Mystique losing her powers = symbolic rape victim?

I think Mystique would forgive him, he did it for a cause she strongly believed in, and she would have probably done the same in his position, deep down she knew she couldn't go with him.
Also she will know how much he has suffered due to the short-term loss of his abilities (we didn't know how far in the future that chess scene is) and she will understand him more.

She already sold him out to the humans. So I don't think she's forgiving him anytime soon.

This is exactly why the cure must be permanent. If it's not and they just decide to kiss and make-up, it would totally negate the emotional weight of this whole damned movie. The scene with Magneto and Mystique was heart-breaking and great, and to undo it immediately would be completely stupid.

It was way too abrupt to have any lasting emotional impact.

Actually she gave them a location that led them to Multiple Man and maybe she knew that. It can be spun either way in a future movie.

1. We don't know if she did sell him out don't forget it was multiple there so she might have been doin it to purposely distact the Government.

2. Even if it was to try and get him caught that means she would have already got rid of some of her anger and be moving on.

I really doubt that she'll forgive something like that so easily. She took a hit for him, it could as well have been a real bullet instead of a cure dart. And what does he do? Turn his back on her. She was serving him for years loyally, and that's how he repays her?

I give her credit, she had the balls to go back to humans to give magneto up, that was ballsy considering that they may arrest her.....

But maybe she is still deeply for Mutant Rights and Magneto's cause. The fact is she gave humans a location and it could be spun either way as to if she was doing it as a trick or if she just really thought it was Magneto's location. That could have been the whole plan from the beginning and she was just following through with it.

I don't get why Magneto left her though. Her martial arts skills aren't part of her mutation are they? So she could still be useful. :p

How was she supposed to have known about the ruse with multiple man?

Someone like Mystique I think is more interested in her own well doing than to what happens around her. And she wasn't a Mutant anymore, so why should she care for them, they after all didn't care for her.

She knew all about how he was captured. Maybe her and Magneto were planning on freeing him and using him as a distraction from the getgo.

I am just saying its not that hard to make it so she was still with Mags all along in a sequel.

A lot of speculations on off-screen activity between Mystique and Mutants from the camp. Which I don't by since it's more than far-fetched. There is no indication that Mystique was still working in secret for the Brotherhood, so I seriously don't know why some people bring that up.

You found it cheesy? I thought she did it near enough spot on.

Looks alright to me.

The problem with that scene is, because of the shots Ratner chose, you're not thinking how emotional it is, you're thinking, "Heyyyyy....she's naked".

Don't forget what i said before about how far ahead the chess scene is if its only about a month in front and Magneto got 4 darts that might mean that by the time she told the government she knew her powers were coming back. She might have even heard the doctors talking about the cure not being permanent.

no complaints about that from me, kev... :O

Still doesn't change the fact that Magneto abandoned her. You seriously believe Mystique thinks "Oh look at that, the cure wasn't permanent. Now I can jump happily back into Magneto's arms".

I dont think she would trust Magneto anymore after he left her, she will hate him until she dies probably or until she can humilate him and make him feel how she felt. If they were to do another film and she got her powers back, I see her becoming more of the Evolution Mystique in her hatred for Mags.

she would've done the same thing, she understands, she knows how much mutant rights is to him and she still strongly believes in it.

That why did she reveal Magneto's hiding place?

Wow. Some people just don't see what people are saying. Haha.

I admit not knowing a lot about Mystique, but I'm pretty sure she isn't that forgiving and understanding.

I was just about to say that they have left it open because she may have lead the military to the wrong place ON PURPOSE !!!
