Names people don't give their kids anymore

i actually really like the name Avery a lot lately

Have you seen the Top 10 most popular baby names for 2008? They're already old-fashioned:

Haha maybe it's a regional thing then! Personally, I haven't met any girls with those names. Not this year, anyway. I do have an aunt named Elizabeth. :oldrazz:

Ooh, I had been trying to remember this kids name I heard in the store I work at the other day, and finally remembered it! The little boy was named 'Raucous'. I thought I misheard it, but the mother repeated it several times. :o Course around here, it would probably be spelled 'Rawkus' :awesome:

She had a bad head cold and his name was Marcus. That's what I'm gonna choose to believe. Otherwise I'd have to hunt her down and administer a firm ass kicking for naming her child that.

So they think the old-fashioned names are going to come back around? I could go for that....you have no idea how many kids named Kailey and Hailey and Harley I see in a week. You yell out one of those names in the mall and like 10 kids will turn around :o

Same goes for all the -aden names out there...Hayden, Brayden, Jayden, Aiden, there's a zillion of em out there.

Screw that. I'm giving all of my kids funny-looking Welsh names like Dafydd, Gwallter, and Ifan.

-sigh- My name is Billy. Of course I was named after my father. I grew up with people calling me the Blue Ranger. Lol.

Hahaha! It could really go either way around here....I've heard some pretty far out names! But we should be nice and give her the benefit of doubt. I guess.... :awesome:

Substitute "traditional" for "old-fashioned", then.

You dont hear alot of...

Ethel
Ruth
Myrtle
Herman

...or any of those types of names given to children any more. But thats probably due to the fact that no one is giving birth to 85 year olds these days...

I've gone to school with a Calvin, and worked with numerous Petes, Louises, and Henrys.
