Namor the Sub-Mariner

The top pic sells your point the best, but there's many actors who'd be a better fit than the Rock. When I trawled through several The Rock movies to make my fantrailer, I learnt this quite well. But that's the challenge - can he be convincing as Prince Namor? After making the trailer, I actually doubt it.
Anyway, Goss is a good pick too.

The content (which was completely out of context on its own) came together quite well though in The Rock trailer. Regardless they should totally keep Bill Murray as his sailor father, that was great.

Goss could probably make a slick trailer since he played at least 2 members of royalty. For voice overs anyway

There's not really any one story element I would want them to borrow from in a Namor movie though. I mean, they could go for the Golden Age Namor when he was arguably at his most popular but I wouldn't mind Namor being set in a modern world for some reason.

It's the aquatic scenes I'm really looking forward to.

So about Namor, any news? IMDB actually has a date set for the movie. Not that it really means anything but just wondering.

I remember people said IRONMAN wasn't an A-lister either and we all know how that turned out. Sub-Mariner doesn't have to be. I think people will be interested because of the spectacle of the idea. An undersea civilization, along with the intrigue of a hybrid king trying to secure his rule and defending his kingdom against his enemies that result in epic undersea battles, showcasing dazzling effects. All the while with the backdrop of the world's naval powers feeling uneasy with the knowledge that a heretofore unknown power could challenge their might. Nothing like this has ever been seen before on film.

Respect the source material and make a good film, people will come.

I keep telling people the same thing! That's why I think even Aquaman would be a hit. This underwater stuff can be done now! Have you seen the last Naria film?? The last Pirates of the Carribean film?? The underwater shots are outstanding!

Iron Man is pseudo realistic. Namor and Aquaman are not. That's the difference.

Underwater shots are not only outstanding, but they're also expensive.

All he has to do is gain some muscle mass really, but he has the look of Namor imo

Wow, that never occurred to me, I always assumed his army would be Skrulls, Kree or an Asgardian species like the Dark Elves, but you might be on to something...

The Shield map actually has more clues than the one you pointed out.
The markers off the coast of New York and Greenland also have to do with important Atlantean-related places (Kamuu and Atlantean capital city).
Then again maybe that Shield map may just be eye candy for the fans, since it also shows something in the African continent (Wakanda?) which is clearly inland, far from the coast.

I could totally dig Dwayne Johnson in the role. He can do that bombastic, arrogant kinda attitude. I think it'd be great to see him completely dominate the screen in a role like Namor. It would give him a great chance to show off his charisma and range along with his physicality. And most importantly, he's got the eyebrows

I think Zachary Quinto could be good for the role. He has that arrogant, villainous streak about him and would be able to act well.
