National Day of Repentance! (Warning: Spoiler)

What I find "Disturbing" is Where AMERICA is today...Morals, Beliefs, Politics, etc...If the Founders of America saw where we were today, they would be totally and utterly sickened by how people threw away their values...
I'm sick and tired of America just thrusting Sin Upon young children, teen, young adults, etc... "At one time, America did have a head on It's Shoulders."

You do realise that most of the founders of this country came here to escape this very thing...RIGHT?

And, the more we allow the Government to dictate our values, the further our head will be removed from our shoulders.

While the idea may be noble and fine, the government has no place in it.

Plain and Simple.

No. But Ben Franklin really liked scantly clad women.

Yes. And the United States was never intened to be a theocracy. It was intended to be a democratic republic.

Why don't you look at the government and people at the beginning of our nation...You sure act like you know OOOO SOO Much to not have lived during that time. LoLs

No link makes me believe that this might be bulls**t. Please tell me this is bulls**t.

Anyone?

Anyone?

Please? :csad:

Well, unless you're in fact over 200 years old, you didn' live back then either. The point of the matter is that the United States were never intended to be a theorcacy. They were intended to be a democratic republic. With a seperation of church and state. And, really, I'd think most Christians would advocate a seperation of church and state. Since, you know, jesus did:

And Jesus said to them, "Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's." And they were amazed at Him.

Mark 12:17

The morals of the Christian religion inspired many of the laws and guidelines present in the American government, but the religion itself was never meant to be the one religion of the country. I myself am a Christian, and even I realize that. Although, a lot of people do misconstrue Seperation Of Church & State.

Anyway, I don't see the problem with this. The only problem I have is that why they'd pick suchb a random date. Also, since the date falls right around Easter, I'm sure a good deal of us Christians already plan on seeking repentance anyway.

Like I said, I see know problem with concept of this.

However, the government is not to be and should not be sponsoring anything that is solely a religious act or ideal.

What's next government sponsored confessions and baptisms.

Is it just me, or does anyone else find the President of the United States in creating a National Day of Repentance a bit disturbing?
Not if he actually takes the time to think about all the things he needs to repent for doing. So far he acts likes he's done nothing wrong.

Right. Yea many people do have that in mind around Easter. I would like America to be a Theocracy, but it's not going to happen b/c there are too many different religions and people would just go to fighting b/c they would constantly be fighting to do their own thing. I believe in Separation. I do, b/c I know I don't want corrupt government or fake Christians telling us "this is what God says and do this..do that"... You know back in the early centuries the Roman Catholic Church work like a Monopoly...Many didn't excel in reading, so whatever the Catholic Church said was believed to be "TRUTH"....So yea I wouldn't like the Government to become like the Roman Catholic Church of the Early Centuries. So yea the best thing is to have Separation. It sounds Contradicting when I say that I'm not opposed to President Bush allowing a "National Day of Repentance". I'm all for it b/c it is necessary and will make a dramatic impact in people's lives.

People have the freedom to either participate or just do their thing, so yea I'm quite thrilled what is to come. I don't care if it sounds contradicting or what not...."It's time to stop being POLITICALLY CORRECT"

Politics is corrupt....God isn't. Period. Boom baby!

P.S. I'm glad to here that you have your name in the "Lamb's Book of Life"

Yep, also he's a fisherman and lady's man.

He's quite the 'Catch'...

Isnt Tai the guy who hunts for fun?

More like for food..... You might not see it to be right, but that's "you" not me nor the millions that are behind me & for the record: "There's nothing wrong with hunting nor fishing, so sit down bud."

im sure you feel no sick pleasure releasing the arrow through an unsuspecting deers throat. :whatever: keep wearing your religion mask. the majority of religious fanatics are just as bizarre and insane as the people theyre trying to "save".

I think its disturbing or wrong that he would assume everyone goes or should go to church to repent.

Defensive much...

I simple "yes I hunt", would have done the job nicely.

And he will continue to think that he's done no wrong, that I'm sure of. In fact, I'm sure this day is to make the "bleeding heart liberal terrorists" repent.

do you ask for repentance for all the animals you kill? or does god enjoy death?

I wouldn't give him that much credit, I think he just shots'em with his rifle.

Hunting for the sake of food, if fine in my book. But, hunting for sport or gloating about all the animals you have killed is something else entirely.

its 2007. no one in America needs to hunt for food. they want to hunt for food. there's a difference :down

Okay, the religion debate aside. Tai, why the f*** did you put "(Warning: Spoiler)" in your thread title. That's stupidiest thing I have ever seen a poster do.

Everything he does is wrong....that was the point of my post....he needs to repent more than anyone else.

That did confuse me too.

Maybe this is all just a clever hoax, and we're actually getting TDK spoilers. You know, replace "Bush" for "Joker" and...:wow:

It probably is in his mind....I just hope that for one inkling of a second at least he will realize that he has much to repent for himself.
