Need For Speed

How is that a bad thing?

Video game movies used to look like cheesy Direct to Video productions.

It's too early to tell but with serious adaptations of Assassins Creed and World of Warcraft we could be entering a golden age for video game adaptations.

I'm not saying it's a bad thing, what I'm saying is that video games have become a form of story telling that movies will never be able to do justice too. Video game adaptations have generally sucked because ultimately you can't replicate the experience. I mean, The Last of Us is without doubt probably the best video game I have ever seen in terms of story, it's actually one of the best stories in any medium I've seen in the last 10 years, but you couldn't replicate it on film.

Can someone tell me the name of the song (music) that was playing in the trailer?

That trailer was surprisingly well made. I'd go see that movie today if it was released.

I think you could easily do a Last of Us movie. Its a fairly straightforward game with some complex characters but there isn't many game elements that would get in the way of the movie. Lots of games have the levels to pad the length in between the story beats but the Last of Us is definitely all about the story instead of the average gameplay. I would love to see it made into a movie.

Why? Everything about the game is going to be superior, what's the point in replicating a watered down version?

Ha I just thought of this but "need for speed" would actually make a good title for a jesse pinkman film as well?

I believe it's "Max Richter - Sarajevo" which was also used in the international trailer of Prometheus.

I think this looks like there is some effort, but it honestly looks boring and generic, not interested beyond Aaron Paul's involvement.

This sums up my feelings as well. The only reason I would see this movie would be for Aaron Paul, but I won't pay to see it either.

Now that's a still they should have started with

I have to say I'm surprised at how decent this actually looks.

Same here, I don't even look at it as a video game movie which is a pretty good thing.

Take my money, Jesse Pinkman. Then throw it away in random neighborhoods.

Looks cool. I don't know if I'd see it in theaters though.

So essentially, this film will be what the Drive trailer made everyone think it would be.

I think it looks pretty bad. The "Yo momma" line wasn't very good, and the trailer was very sloppily edited in places. Overall it looks generic.

Well luckily Drive ended up being a great movie even if it's more of an acquired taste than what its original trailer implied. The thing about Drive is that it was ultra stylish while this is not. (Though it looks like generic fun.)
