Netflix Jupiter’s Legacy

No problem. Also so basically they all left the island became heroes and I guess villains and meet some women or men but it seemed like Grace was the only woman on the ship so I guess just woman. Had sex and had kids and those kids grew up and some of them had kids so now the world is populated with super people if that makes sense lol. Mark made a tweet explaining it better than I can but I can’t find it.

It's Ok, I was just wondering if the book gave a more detailed explanation which apparently does not.

When I was watching I kept thinking The Boys and Invincible already did this but way better... I did enjoy it, but it's nowhere near the level of those 2 shows. Also some of the fight scenes looked a bit too "CW."

It's not great, but I thought the show was fine. I want to see what happens next, so I hope they'll give this a season 2. (I know I can just read the comic, but I prefer watching the show)

It wasn't bad, but there are definitely other superhero shows doing it better. The pacing seemed off and some of the action and fight sequences just didn't land properly.

Josh Duhamel was great though. Surprised he hasn't been in a superhero property until now (he's approaching 50), he's nearly 6"4 and has that look.

I know him (or knew of him?) from his role in Transformers, and honestly I thought he was a lot shorter..

Just watched the first episode. 50/50 chance I will keep watching. Other than the gratuitous violence toward the end that has plagued many comic book TV shows and movies that desperately want to show they are for mature adults, not much is there to get me want more. Perhaps there will be gratuitous nudity further down to pair that given the daughter’s plotline. Dunno. Too bad, not my thing I’m afraid.

4 episodes in and enjoying it so far, interested to see how the 30's storyline transpires and they got their powers, but also finding the kids interesting too.

Ive finished it now. Didn't see that twist coming, so credit there where it's due. Unless I missed something there were two of the old timers we didn't see in the present day, one of which was skyfox; what happened to the other guy?

As others have also stated, it's no Avengers or the Boys, but I think it'll come to stand on its own two feet and I'm intrigued where they'll go next.

The guy in the wheel chair you may think about ?

I think he’s talking about Blue Bolt. Mark Millar said we will learn what happened to him and his present day whereabouts if the show gets future seasons.

I thought this was ok. More wheel-spinning than the comic.

It’s been a while since I read the comic, but I’m pretty sure it was mostly shown in chronological order with how they got their powers (arriving on the island) and then jumping to the current generation. Also the origin was more short and to the point.

I felt the jumping back and forth wasn’t smooth. Just felt random at times. I haven’t read Jupiter’s Circle, so I’m guessing more stuff from that will be shown in future seasons.

Quick question: I heard that toward the later episodes, they start dropping f-bombs. Can anyone give me an estimate on how many? Is it one or two per episode or are we looking at The Boys levels of profanity?

I'll eat my hat if there's a season 2. I made it through 5 episodes before I gave up completely. Dreadful

If this doesnt get a S2 I blame Steven DeKnight for his bad advice.

I mean the 5$ budget didn't help

Ive not seen discussing the series anywhere that i frequent...haven't looked on Netflix to see how's it doing on their ranking.

Which can be said to most netfliX shows.

I mean Altered Carbon looked a hell of a lot better than this, even at its worst. Either they got next to nothing in the budget or they completely mismanaged it, because they missed on every front.

It was number 1 worldwide for 7 days I believe. I’m really hoping Netflix gives this a second shot because I love the comic and I think the show was good but not great imo but there were problems.

if it doesn’t though at least I’ll have the comic and I’m still looking forward to Jupiter’s Legacy: Requiem next month. Also Supercrooks based on the comic which is the tie in anime to Jupiter’s Legacy coming later this year. It’s a fun book.

At times I did feel like more money was spent on Shadow & Bone than this.
