Netflix Superhero Film “Project Power” | Jamie Foxx and Joseph Gordon-Levitt

Yeah I have no interest in a sequel unless they get an entirely different team for it, especially a new director and writers. This premise still has a lot of potential left to be explored IMO and I'd be curious about a follow up even if its mostly new characters, but it needs to be done right this time.

The only place I could really see them going is the government coming after Art's daughter again, but that would be really cliche for me.

A good director could make it work though. The original script sounds like something David Ayer would do IMO.

The concept felt very similar to Marvel's Power Broker. Even the half the users dying was something that featured in the Marvel comics featuring Power Broker corporation

This was such a blast. Everyone says Jamie was the standout but I think Dominique (Robin) stole the show.

So I finally cracked and got a Netflix account yesterday because there were a few things I wanted to see, and I gave this a try.

It felt half-baked and shallowly-developed and like something that would have worked better as a miniseries where stuff could breathe more, and like it didn't use the interesting premise to its full potential.

Also the chase with JGL and the chameleon was cool, but apart from that (and maybe Machine Gun Kelly), the action was a lot of generic fights and shootouts and clumsily choreographed like Schulman and Joost didn't have a good handle on how to film action.

Also, am I the only one who wasn't totally buying either Jamie Foxx or JGL in this? I just wasn't quite buying Foxx as the hard-ass he was meant to be, and I usually love JGL but he just felt kind of.....idk, like he wasn't all the way into it or something (he was better in 7500). Best performance in the movie was Dominique Fishback IMO.
