I could see him as Vesemir, Regis, or an older Emperor Emhyr depending on what direction they go with him.

Considering his version of Hannibal Lecter, I could very much see him as Regis if he's in the show.

A bit too model-looking for Regis and Vesemir, imo, but Emhyr - I'd be up for it.

Immortals is enough, I feel. Some witchers are REALLY buff like Letho, who's probably an exception, but the series is based on the books, where Geralt hates beards and looks lean, almost gaunt.

Also the fact he is kinda a bland actor is a concern for them (not for me, he can pull this off)

Blimey. The books are good, but they’re not Lord Of The Rings. If anything, the games improve Geralt’s characterisation quite considerably. Henry will do fine.

Despite being Polish I never read them, never played the game either

BUT I love our myths and I know it's very present in this universe, the book they based the creatures in the game on is awesome, so I'm looking forward to this

If they read the books, not sure why they're complaining about Cavill's looks. The books don't describe Geralt as "not pretty". Geralt has a harsh/unpleasant voice and his looks makes people feel uneasy. Well, given that witchers have cat eyes, they're covered in scars and Geralt in addition has ashen hair, big surprise.

I see concerns about his acting skillz, I'm one of those people, especially after seeing his Fallout efforts. But I'm still rather glad that they secured a recognizable face for the show. It means they have more faith in it, hopefully. And willing to invest. In addition, I know Cavill is capable of performing well, despite his limited range. It will largely depend on the director and writing. The guy who made Fallout can't direct actors. Even Cruise felt awkward.

You shouldn't watch her channel or videos. She totally trashed Wonder Woman and Gal Gadot before it came out and said it was going to bomb.

Yeah, she's awful. I used to find her somewhat amusing but she's really gone off the deep end. She really seems like one of those people who is so jealous of others' success that she spends the majority of her time making subtle or blatant digs at everyone who rubs her even slightly the wrong way.

Henry is what we call TV good on acting caliber. I wasn't going to watch, but he's the eye candy I need to be interested now.

Geralt needs the cat eyes. If they dump that then I'm not watching the show. There are some things I will be unyielding over.

I don't think Cavill needs an American accent as Geralt, and I'd rather he not use one.

I think some hardcore fans were hoping for someone like Mads Mikkelsen, who Sapkowski once said he sees as Geralt, or Nikolaj Coster Waldau. Both choices were unrealistic.

My main choice was Zach McGowan. At least he expressed interest in playing the character.

As for the casting, to be perfectly honest, IMHO, Geralt is NOT a hard role to play. He's Mr. Gruff Tough Witcher. Rough and gruff on outside, but on the inside he's a gentle soul with a heart of gold who cares for his friends and loved ones. Others have already mentioned this here.

I mean look, Cavill has already had tons of practice playing the dark brooding loner as Supes, right?
