I definitely think that it's about time for a new Superman animated series, and since Green Lantern is getting one to go along with his movie... why not Supes?

What do you guys think?

I agree...I'd watch. But with Smallville ending I doubt they would do it...I could be wrong

Smallville has nothing to do with any of the animated Superman series/movies.

Sure...a direct to DVD film would be nice if they didnt wanna do a series.

^ Oh, I'm sure we'll get a direct-to-dvd film with it no matter what.... but we're getting both a dt-dvd film and an animated series for Green Lantern this year and both of them will go along with the live action movie.

I want the same for Superman.

I'd love a new series but I don't know how they'd top the Superman TAS of the 90's. I don't even like Superman much but I loved that cartoon more than Batman TAS(found it a little boring) or the JL/JLU series(not enough focus on the heroes as actual characters/people, IMO...they were seen too much as archetypes).

I hope so..I think it would be interesting to focus on the villain in the animated film..like an origin or something. Maybe do a two in one DvD, show the origin of Lex, and the origin of the main villain, be it Brainiac, or Zod.

There's definitely gonna be a new Superman cartoon

I think they'll go the CGI animated look for the series like the new Batman series, which is supposed to premiere after TDKR.

I have no doubt we'll get a Direct-to-DVD film and an animated series... But lets hope it's better than what Superman Returns got (Brainiac Attacks and Legion of Superheroes).

Personally I'd like a Superman cartoon series that was a period piece of the 1930's or 1940's. Kinda like the Fliesher cartoons, just minus the racism and with a series continuity. I think I'd also like them to push the envelope of how serious(adult themes, violence, etc.) you can make a network cartoon show. No robbers shooting ray guns or any of that crap. Give'em tommy guns and pistols and such that shoot bullets. That I think could make it stand out from the other cartoons.

Yeah they've started the CGI with Green Lantern aswell and like you said the new CGI Batman series aswell.

I'm not crazy about a CGI superhero cartoon series. Didn't work out so well for Spider-man & Iron Man.

Depends on how it flows CGI series tend to be stiff moving etc. But nah not crazy on the CHI myself.

Definitely a new Superman series is needed.

I really missed Superman:TAS, JL and definitely JLU series. My favourite series along with Spectacular Spider-man.

Wouldn't mind a series done in CGI. Or maybe in the JL:COTE/Young Justice style.
Everytime I watch Superman appears on YJ, I'm like "Damn. I miss Superman on TV". Plus Clark Kent appeared on screen with Bruce Wayne. Missed those little characteristic interactions.

Superman TAS is my favourite animated series ever and in my opinion the best version of Superman to date.

I still agree with the 2nd part. It's tied with Avengers:EMH for my favorite superhero toon ever. Used to be flat out my number one though(no I never was much for Batman TAS...too dull).

Tim Daly was excellent for the voice actor. Later newbern or whatever his name is was ok but Daly is my favorite Supes voice actor.

:wow::wow:

I love B:TAS... but yeah I think that Timm and co. really became a well-oiled machine with Superman: The Animated Series.

Too bad it's has 'middle-child syndrome'. :csad:

Sorry to say but Batman TAS just bored me to tears. I acknowledge it was a well crafted show but I just never found Batman-anything interesting until Nolan's BB came out. The Superman TAS however was exciting and fun and finally started to show some of Superman's other rogues for once.

I think Metallo was my favorite.

George Newbern was a good Superman very good but Tim Daly was a Great Superman

Well B:TAS was a learnong curve for them so by the time they got to Superman they'd learned what not to do. I honestly think S:TAS has no bad episodes, 1 or 2 average ones but none of them are bad. Thats why I consider it the best, its conistent and it feature my favourite character of all time played perfectly by Tim Daly. The Supporting cast was top notch aswell Delaney as Lois, Brown as Lex, etc and i consider them the definitive versions of their characters. When I read the books those are the voices I hear.

That's a hell yeah for me. And BH/HHH, I do the same thing Ha!

A new Superman animated series would be awesome.

Good as STAS was, it was hardly the end all, be all of Superman adaptations. A new one is certainly welcome, as long as there's a good creative force behind it.

Agreed, I absolutely loved the series, but there are so many cool interpretations that I'd be happy to see, there's definitely room for a new series. The direct to video movies have been a bit underwhelming story-wise but the animation was largely great.

Having a whole series based on Allstar Superman? Retro Darwyn Cooke inspired series? count me in. As an aside the new Young Justice series has impressed me quite a bit so far.
