New Animated Series To Go Along With The Film?

I wouldn't mind a CG series, like the upcoming Green Lantern. I think there are alot of elements that would make a CG series quite awesome: The Phantom Zone, Bizarros, Apokolips, Brainiac, Krypton.

Could this series be used to fill in the missing plot details the movie might not have the time to focus on such as Clark's origin story.. his first experiences with new powers.. maybe even how the suit was created

Edit- or maybe something released similar to the Animatrix or the anime feature released before The Dark Knight.

I would love to see a new Superman animated series. But not connected to the actual movie, make it a stand-alone continuity. A fresh but faithfull take on Superman. I think is time.

STAS is definetely, as someone said, not the end all be all...in fact, a new cartoon could top it easily as far as im concerned. The best thing STAS did was set up storylines that had MUCH better payoff in JL/JLU, a series that was much better than STAS.

People say STAS was better than BTAS...I disagree. The few times BTAS was bad, it was bad ....but when it was good, it was great. STAS may've been more consistent, but it was never great. Theres a reason why it never defined Supes the reason BTAS defined Batman. It's just middle of the road, really.

I think the storytelling was more ambitious and tight in Justice League/Unlimited. But yeah, Superman the Animated Series was a good 'narrative' template to start off with.

I would LOVE the idea of a new Superman series, or even a series of DTV movies! I'd like them to make them as gritty and realistic as possible! Obviously this is apart from the fact that it's about Superman and all the powers and stuff that go along with it. But what I'm talking about, is everything else in the series/movies. I hope it really pushes the PG-13 rating.

While I like the All-Star look (particularly in the upcoming DTV movie) and all previous incarnations of animated Supes, I hope they do something different with the new one. Not drastically different, just a couple of tweaks here and there, like what the 'Crisis on Two Earths' or 'Young Justice' folks did.

It looks like Superman there, but one wouldn't confuse it with any previous incarnation whether in comics or animation.

I want them to take stylistic cues from the movie and make it look like that, or at least make Supes look like Cavill. As it is Henry looks a lot like a cross between the Gil Kane and the Jose Luis Garcia Lopez Superman.
