New Avengers? How about New Joe Fridays?

Blahblahblah. Whine ***** moan. The Marvel universe is stronger now than it's been in years.

Such bullsht.

Change is a good thing to him when it shocks and confounds the readers, and it's a terrifying thing when it introduces any sort of lasting evolution to the status quo.

If he meant a single word of what he said up there, we wouldn't have had the Xorneto fckup and the unprecedented series of retcons and retreads he forced on the X-writers post-Morrison, to say nothing of the utter historical rehash that was House of M. If he meant a single word, he wouldn't have such a mad-on against Peter's marriage. If he meant a single word, he wouldn't have manhandled Marvel into a cyclical state of retcons and character assassinations.

We'd have less X-titles after HoM if he really had any balls.

Now we got just as many if not more X-books.

I'm not faulting him for retcons...that's Bendis' fault. :D.

I'm calling him out on his utter bullsht hypocrisy that he will praise the great "changes" that have made comics the way they are in one minute, and in another he'll single-handedly deface some of the the most significant changes to some of the most significant characters and call it "returning them to their roots."

Same here, he obvisously loves working in comics, but he makes some really bone headed choices.

I'd rather he go back to drawing on a regular basis, the guy's art kicks major ass.

I'd rather he never pick up a pencil ever again. I hate his style. :down

I don't think I'll ever forgive him for erasing Morrison's New X-Men. To me, he had the best take on the X-Men ever.

I've heard this aswell .... which issues did he write ? :)
He wrote an arc called "Worldengine" in Thor vol. 1 #491-494. In retrospect it wasn't really horrible (though it wasn't very good, either). Bill Messner-Loebs' stuff from #495 through the end of that series was much worse. That was the era that gave us the shirtless, "mortal" (see: less powerful) Thor and the human-form Asgardians.

I honestly feel so, Darth. I've loved everything from House of M on, and it's still going strong as far as I'm concerned.

While I don't really DISlike too much, I like reading them now far more than I did a few years ago.

Okie-dokie.

I agree that Marvel is stronger than it has been in forever.

I quit comics towards the end of the 90s, but it got me back in with the Ultimates line, and various series since.

While it is indeed better than it was in the 90's, the main problem is that DC has jumped way ahead of Marvel in terms of quality. I honestly beleive that sometime this year or next, DC will take over the leadership of the market.

I doubt it.

Also ending Joe Fridays and replacing it with New Joe Fridays a week later: LMAO!

Me too.
Marvel does a much better job marketing their books. Also, I think the general consensus in the public is that Marvel has grittier, edgier heroes, not the boring old fogeys like Batman and Superman.

At most I think DC will get a bigger share of the market but Marvel will still be in the lead.

I worry about your mental health sometimes Hipster :(

Well, considerin' I, someone who barely bought DC ever, now has a healthy DC list every month, can believe Marvel is gonna fall soon.

Well after hearing that SHe-Hulk #8 was one of 6 Civil War sell-outs, I think Marvel knows what theyre doing.

That's basically it. I think DC's got higher-quality titles overall, but Marvel seems to have a bigger general fanbase and better public perception. Comic fans may know better than to believe that Marvel's "just got better characters," but the casual reader probably doesn't.

LOL jeez I know I've been away from the comics forum for too long if people are actually liking Quesada. Just a year ago there were like 50 threads about giving Joe Q a death wish...

Yeah, it seems there are a few more people around lately with reasoned opinions, as opposed to anti-Queseda/Bendis/etc bandwagons.

So, apparently, not likin' decisions made by the person in charge is bein' on the badnwagon instead of a valid complaint, eh? I'll hafta remember that.

*sigh*

As usual, someone reads my statements incorrectly. It can be chalked up to either the fact that message boards are one of the poorest mediums to convey inflection and intent, or to the fact that most people on said message boards are on them primarily to cause arguments.

Your sarcasm doesn't become you.

I didn't mean that every person that feels as you do is on a bandwagon; in fact, in that very same SENTENCE I mentioned reasoned opinions. If your reasoned opinions dictate that you disagree with me, that's absolutely awesome! I love disagreement, when communicated in an adult manner.

I wasn't saying that I didn't like people who disagree with me; I was saying that I don't like people who don't think for themselves. If you're not one of those people, then I don't mean you, and thus you don't need to be angry. ;)
