Change is a good thing to him when it shocks and confounds the readers, and it's a terrifying thing when it introduces any sort of lasting evolution to the status quo.
If he meant a single word of what he said up there, we wouldn't have had the Xorneto fckup and the unprecedented series of retcons and retreads he forced on the X-writers post-Morrison, to say nothing of the utter historical rehash that was House of M. If he meant a single word, he wouldn't have such a mad-on against Peter's marriage. If he meant a single word, he wouldn't have manhandled Marvel into a cyclical state of retcons and character assassinations.

I'd rather he go back to drawing on a regular basis, the guy's art kicks major ass.

He wrote an arc called "Worldengine" in Thor vol. 1 #491-494. In retrospect it wasn't really horrible (though it wasn't very good, either). Bill Messner-Loebs' stuff from #495 through the end of that series was much worse. That was the era that gave us the shirtless, "mortal" (see: less powerful) Thor and the human-form Asgardians.yahman said:I've heard this aswell .... which issues did he write ?![]()

Kotagg said:I honestly feel so, Darth. I've loved everything from House of M on, and it's still going strong as far as I'm concerned.
While I don't really DISlike too much, I like reading them now far more than I did a few years ago.

That's basically it. I think DC's got higher-quality titles overall, but Marvel seems to have a bigger general fanbase and better public perception. Comic fans may know better than to believe that Marvel's "just got better characters," but the casual reader probably doesn't.Ben Urich said:Me too.
Marvel does a much better job marketing their books. Also, I think the general consensus in the public is that Marvel has grittier, edgier heroes, not the boring old fogeys like Batman and Superman.
