That dress is gorgeous!

Sorry, I can't help it. ;)

Seriously, this woman would be a great credit to a cast like TDK's (which is pretty darn good in and of itself.) Blunt FTW.

Nolan may have done it again. It seems that almost everytime we have basically locked an Actor/Actress for a role in the film, Nolan comes up with something else. It was seeming like Mcadams was certain for the role and all that was needed was an Official Announcement.

The only time we have probably been almost 100% on the money was when Bale was cast.

Lets see if this pans out.....

Obviously the Rachel Dawes character is not going to be written out of the story, so those who keep calling for that will accomplish nothing but getting a bad case of hemorrhoids.

As far as the Blunt rumor, she looks more like KM than McAdams, an she is apparently a decent actress. It feels better than casting McAdams, who just seems like an "IT" girl choice.

I'm also more inclined to believe that Rachel has a bigger role than rumor suggest.

If her demise is to come, it may be in the third movie as her dilemma may be the actual cliffhanger to TDK.

Also, her demise may not be at the hand of the Joker, but at the hands of Two-Face, the former D.A. Harvey Dent. A twist, could be than she and Harvey become involved in TDK. She has been known to become involved with her bosses (remember Carl?)

What's going on around here? First, everyone was on the McAdams bandwagon, now she's getting kicked to the curb for Emily Blunt?! Where's the loyalty? I swear, this board will eat up any rumor! :oldrazz:

She's ideal, definately making the best of a bad situation. I don't want her to die anymore, CG her into Batman Begins while they're at it :oldrazz:

Knowing the way Nolan works I wouldn't be surprised if when the role is actually cast, that it may end up being someone else altogether.

I wouldn't say she looks like Holmes but she's definately better looking even though she bears some resemplance.

Nolan is mysterious that way.

I wasn't ever on the McAdams bandwagon. She may be a good actress but I just don't think she is Rachel. Harley maybe or even Glida Dent.

I didn't think there was anything wrong with Holmes to be honest. Yeah, she's no Cate Blanchett, but it was the crap dialogue she had to work with that was the real problem. They may as well have stuck a ****ing halo over Rachel's head she was so one dimensional.

Goyer is a great ideas man but he can't write good dialogue (especially for women).

Let´s face it, with the exception of Selina Batman´s world was never known for strong female characters anyway... She served her purpose in the story, and was still much more active to the plot than say Vicky or MJ.

look at his wacky hair!

i actually like emily blunt ofr the role..

This is an excellent choice if true!!

And this is coming from a guy who doesn't like the idea of replacing characters with different actors. But if it has to be done, Emily Blunt is an excellent choice. She was the breakout performance in last summer's Devil Wears Prada (a movie that gave Superman Returns a run for its money, natch), she's an accomplished young actress who looks wiser than her years, and she recently won a Golden Globe.

My only regret is that Emily Blunt wasn't cast as Rachel Dawes in Batman Begins!

Loyalty? I'm not familiar with that word. ;)

Nah, I wouldn't mind if her or McAdams got it. They're both good on their own merits, however Blunt is a fellow Brit, so she edges out McAdams in my eyes. :oldrazz:

she was only 22 in '05. fact is, in 2004 there really wasnt anyone available besides Katie. McAdams' movies didn't hit until 2004, so she wasn't a name yet. Connelly had the Hulk, Weisz was in Constantine, Portman was in Star Wars ... who else was there? Plus, it was WB. If they brought Joshua Jackson in to read for Batman, they sure as hell pushed Katie in the door for Rachel.
