It would be god if Joker kidnapped Rachael and trorured her before killing her. And show it on film to Batman like he did on ROTJ with Robin.

ha, that's good idea about setting up for catwoman but they should also introduce Harvey Dent not Two-Face until the next movie. This way they can show the bond each character has, like Selina Kyle with Bruce and then Bruce being hurt when he finds out she's catwoman. Also the truce between Batman, Dent, and Gordon and that friendship being destroyed when Dent Becomes Two-Face.

She was the only real crappy thing about Batman Begins... just don't have her come back... and leave no explanation as to why she isn't back. I don't mind!

She is made D.A......... she hires a new lawyer named harvey Dent...... later in the movie, her and Bruce develop more of a relationship, but the Joker soon finds out that Bruce Wayne is indeed The Batman, obsessed with destroying him, he kidnaps Rachel, and eventaully kills her...... this drives The Batman over the edge, hunts down the Joker, after some events, Batman has the Joker, and is ready to kill him, he has a flash back of her saying (it's what you do that defines who you are), so he decides to bring the Joker in instead of killing him, sets up the 3rd movie where the Joker is put on Trail, Harvey Dent then becomes the D.A. of Gothem.......

im sorry. not to rag on ur suggestion, but batman really needs to keep his identity a secret in these movies. 89- joker kinda knew ("i was a kid when i killed your parents"), returns- unmasked himself in front of everyone, forever- villains probed his mind, begins- ra's knew and he basically told rachel. batman is alot better than that.

and ive said in like 20 posts already, we dont need joker to kill rachel for batman to hate him. the simple fact that hes a maniacal genius and theyre polar opposites is reason enough. it would take like 5 movies all starring joker to bring their relationship to where it is in the comics and thats just not gonna happen.

I say either re-cast her.....or kill her. One or the other, do not go the BOND GIRL route.

Well if you think about it, Bruce Wayne and James Bond are kind of similar. Both dress in fancy clothes, have access to high-tech gadgets and are real players, gigolos or whatever you wanna call it with the ladies. That's what distinguishes Wayne from other superhero alteregos, he doesn't have a Lois Lane or Mary Jane Watson-type consistent love interest. Anyway, since it doesn't look like Katie Holmes is doing anything these days after Tom Cruise brainwashed her, just get a different female character actually from the comics (Vicki Vale, Julie Madison, Talia Al Ghul, Catwoman, etc).

but it is a good way to strengthen their hatred towards each other, killing Dawes that is. When Joker killed Robin in the comics, that strengthened the hatred in Batman towards the Joker....... the Joker needs to show his homocidal madness in this movie, and I think the best way would be for him to kill a main character from the first movie, IMO

I think Rachel should come back not in the next film but maybe the third and realize that Bruce's job as Batman will never stop, and that there will always be something else he has to fight around the corner. That to me is a logical way to go with the character.

First off, don't recast her. Katie Holmes is Rachel Dawes. Having another actress (let's say Jennifer Connelly) take her place would be stupid when they can just hire Connelly (or whatever actress they choose) to play a different character. I like continuity, and lack of continuity pisses me off. I mean, who really gave a crap about Nick Stahl in T3 when it wasn't Eddie Furlong playing John Connor?

As for Joker killing Rachel, I do not see it happening. Two-Face gets scarred by the Joker, yes, (by the way, I can't believe Goyer has actually told us that) but I think the combination of the two sequences would be way too dark for the sequel. Not that I don't want BB2 to be dark, but I feel Nolan wouldn't take it that far.

I hope is not one scene. the problem with batman is that in every movie they show up a new love interest. Why not keep the same one? Rachel is a very interesting character that can be developed greatly if it done right....is time to break the rules, no more new loves iterest!!! unless they bring another one to create a bizarre love triangle.......that's interesting, apart from that, enough!!!
