Couldn't this have gone in the magazines thread?*sigh*
Awesome cover though. Now i understand why the pic was pulled recently, it was meant for Empire.

I don't get why they pull the Venom trailer off of youtube and then show us a better picture of him 2 days later...Sony.

I think they want to control what and when the (general) public gets to see promos. If you're not 'in the know' you probably haven't seen the leaked Venom footage like we have.

I can understand truly leaked materials hitting the net...but when you show a clip to hundreds of people at a comic event...you can expect it to be leaked either written or in video or even audio format. But to leave it circulating for so long, pull it off, and then reveal it in better format 2 days later is weird IMO.

Nice, I wonder if the cover is a Lenticular cover . and spidey's mask is shown .

Anyways I look forward to reading this issue of Empire [I bet their will be plenty of new spoilers to hold me until the next spidey 3 trailer arrives in Feb .

Great cover, great find, calculator2006, and a great name:)

just bought empire today

a good read but only 2 points of any intrest in it, of course theres no proof thatr this is true

jon jameson does bring the symboiye back with him from space and gwen stacey is brocks girl/ex, ok one intresting thing we kinda already knew about brock and gwen from the q & a

So the symbiote is brought back to Earth by John Jameson (much like the 90's animated series) excellent. I'm curious exactly how it was phrased and who said it in the article, did Sam Raimi or one of the producers say it or what?

Nope. It's a regular, 'gay-looking straight superhero' cover.

why can't they have symbiote webbing shooting out of the top of his wrist, that hand position doesn't look natural for the man in black.

I'm hoping they at least save that little bit for Venom. I think the organic web shooters kinda cancels out the effect. Oh well, doesn't bother me much. Some of the comics didn't even keep it continuous.

There's no reason to change it. The only reason they had to in the comics was to make it clear that the symbiote, not Peter's mechanical webshooters was producing the webbing. In the movie, he produces his own webbing so there's no need to say the symbiote generates it. It only perhaps enhances it. And, as every Spidey action poster since the first film features him in firing position, it's become the trademark for the franchise.
well spidey experienced problems with his webbing in the second film.

if he's going to marry mj, they could easily rework in this loss of ability which is tied in to his romantic life and thus use the symbiote producing webbing for parker to overcome this aspect.

considerate writing qualities could easily deal with it while keeping it in film continuity.

pesonally, i would separate as much from black suit from regular suit, I mean with parker unaware of spidey sense, it looks like venom's ability to negate it will be overlooked on film.

Also venom will have to create his own webbing so whatever means they should have decided to use for spidey should have been duplicated for venom.

besides, with all the two sided posters they are coming out with, they could make one with spidey shooting normally on one side with the red and blues and the other way with the black.

although it's not likely to happen, i still believed there is enough reasoning to work it in, i only hope venom does it since he is looking more traditional (except someone couldn't be bothered with the white patches on his hands:cmad: )

yes i too can confirm that all this is true as i got this issue a few days ago. i do suggest that you do get it as it has a full 7 page spread on spider-man with interviews with Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst, Bryce Dallas Howard, Thoma Haden Church and Topher Grace and its qwuite a fun read too, i was laughing my head off when i was reading it.

Empire is crap now, for those who read it every month, Total Film is now the superior movie magazine.
