New He-man Movie!!

I just e-mail he-man.org and give them what I think is pretty cool news. Especially the deal with the name KARG being in the original cartoon series. And I do agree Val Staples is THE source for any MOTU news. But I still find it interesting that there are rumors about the project rumbling around. Superkong...I do agree with you...but look at his pic in Muscle and Fitness Magazine where he is in the water. He's not all that shiney and wrinkly from lifting anything. THAT is the pic that caught my eye. Plus when He-Man is Adam...he's supposed to be in his teens. When he's He-Man he's well All Man. In the original Filmation series they wanted to have Adam look younger and change him into the bulking He-Man...but the thing is...it cost too much so they made him look exactly the same. Only with darker skin...and with darker hair. I think that the Mike Young Productions version was dead on. I think a younger actor...like Jesse McCartney or maybe even David gallagher should play Adam. And maybe a muscle bound heroic looking ACTOR...to play The Most Powerful Man In The Universe. Rylah has the physique but unfortunately he stands under 6 feet. I believe he's 5'8" tall according to his site. I actually e-mailed him telling him he should try out for the role. He e-mailed me back wondering if I knew anyone in the biz...I replied "Well FOX 2000 studios (at the time) was producing the film. And the base, I believe in in Australia (where the guy is from). I don't know anyone in the biz...but you should just audition". I think they should go with a younger Adam...and a more mature looking guy for He-Man. (Triple H does have a certain He-Man quality to him...but I think he's too ugly big nose...slack jawed...short wrinkly and bladed up forehead). But as long as the actor they choose to play He-Man...I hope he's good enough.

yes the only one that resembles he-man is jason lewis, but i know that there most be even a better choice btw could you give me a list of new actors that have the characteristics required to play both adam and he-man, I think the actor should play both roles, the change will be in the voice tone and in the hair, and he doesn't have to be bodybuilder type shape but more ripped. the clothes will make him look skinnier, btw I would really like that list if you can of course, saince it seems that you know a few names that maybe I don't ,from there I will tell you who in my opinon can play adam/he-man.

Okay can you tell me how the hell to post in those forums, because I've tried twice and it says that my e-mail adress is not acepted, and I have a regular hotmail account, is there something I most do to become a member? man I can't wait to discuss my ideas about the movie with fans of MOTU ,weird that MOTU freak hasn't mention this forum.

you need an e-mail that is not a free account. they stoped doing that after certain people created multiple accounts and spammed the boards

I don't think it should be the same actor at all. I apologize...but He-Man should be totally different than Adam. Like a costume and a mask to conceal his identity. Adam and He-Man should be separate identities. As far as newer undiscovered actors...I do not know. There is a lot of talent out there...undisovered and such. If they are undiscovered...I do not know what to say. But I think He-Man should be a man...whereas Adam should remain a boy. It would make more sense...b/c if Adam and He-Man look exactly the same...it'd be like...the original series. You'd be like...How can Skeletor not tell He-Man and Adam are the same person??? I know where you're going...keeping with the original series. But I think it'd add to the mystery and the mythos of the character to have a scrawny...cowardly...lazy 16 year old kid...change into a heroic..muscley...confident and strong MAN that looks to be in his early to mid 20s. As far as unknowns...I'll say it again...I have no clue. That's why they're called Unknowns. LOL. I agree Jason Lewis does have the look...but he'd have to pack on a lot of muscle. He's wayyy too skinny.

Well you have your opinion I have mine, and that's perfect, but if you put adam a young 16 17 year old and then he-man a 20 something guy it could look like shazam, okay remember clark and superman, you have to sometimes suspend disbelief, but not that much, you can have adam being kind of lazy sometimes and always beautifully dressed with silks and different layers of fabrics and his hair combed to the sides , you know a pretty boy style look, then when he becomes he-man you see his muscles, his hair pulled back without touching his fore head, his face determined, serious, it could work, and well jason lewis is very skinny yes but if christian bale wenr from crack addict shape to superhero shape, lewis or other actors should not have a problem, and for the different looks, this is why a good actor is needed the performance will be crucial to separate adam/ from he-man, voice change, body movements different, expression change. believe it, with hair style changes ,voice tone transformation, and great acting he-man and adam can be the same actor and look very different in the two roles, as he-man he could change his atitude and everything and look much more manly and stronger.

Yes I do...I liked that show as well. He had a kick ass Lazer Sword...he was a HANNA BARBARIAN!!! BWA-HA-HA-HA!!!
When will Thundarr get a new movie/comic book series/cartoon? When? When oh Lord of all things 80s, when?

BTW: Who's Brock Lessner?

Lord of all thing 80s? LOL. Well how about a casting call for C.O.P.S., M.A.S.K., VISIONARIES, The CENTURIONS, VOLTRON, Thundercats etc...LOL. Dude I don't think Brock Lesnar is the best choice for He-Man...he is more of the villian type anyway. Maybe uhhh...Whiplash? LOL. Now, Superkong I do agree with you on the Superman/Clark Kent scenario and suspending disbelief. But you must always know...the audience is smarter. Plus the 16 year old kid turning into the dashing cut and heroic He-Man was the original premise for the character anyway. It is very Captian Marvel/SHAZAM! However...I think it would benefit the film more character wise.

Dr. Fate....Brock Lesnar is a former Collegiate Wrestler and WWE Champion. He is now the IWGP Champion in Japan. and I do not know when a Thundarr movie is comming out. If the same production companies get the rights...well...they can do a crossover Ala Batman/Superman. BTW...did u get it? "HANNA-BARBARIAN" I know..I'm a dork.

The more gay subtext the better.

Society needs more gay subtext.

...Maybe. LMAO. Maybe a little tongue in cheek. Like barely there. Like most Superhero movies are. (Have you seen Brandon Routh in HIS Superman Costume...now that's purdy gay. And I would know ^_^)

I get the gag. I went over the top to be funny. Don't watch much wrestling to be honest with you.

You know who would make a decent MOTU Character??? That one HUGE dude from Adam Sandlers Longest Yard.

yes that guy is enormous I was gonna say that he should play beastman but he's to big for even that role how the hell is he-man gonna fight him, but he could play one of skeletors army commanders or generals.

I think he should play maybe Whiplashor Clawful....I'm up for Tyler Mane (X-Men/Troy) or WWE's Big Show Paul Wight as Beast Man...Ralph Mueller (Scorpion King/Conan TV Series) as Trap Jaw Brian Thompson (X-Files/Mortal Kombat Anniahlation (I know I didn't spell that right LOL) maybe as Tri-Klops. Rosario Dawson (Sin City) as Evil Lyn. But I am sticking with my choice of WIllem Dafoe as Keldor/Skeletor. I think he's quintesential.

As far as Heroes...I've always liked the idea of Randor being played by Liam Neeson. He's used to being the father figure. He can be extremely physical. And he has been in many a fantasy film. (Star Wars/Batman Begins/Darkman/Krull and Excalibur). Ted Levine (Silence of the Lambs/Monk) is absolutely PERFECT for the role of Duncan/Man At Arms. Lindsay Lohan has the look of Teela but I don't know now of her acting chops...if she wants a change of pace and to be physical...I think she could pull it off. But I'm swinging toward Kiera Knightley (King Arthur/Domino). Ron Pearlman (Hellboy) as Startos. Patrick Warburton (The Tick/Seinfeld) as Man-E Faces. ANd check this guy out...he'd be perfect for Ram Man. All they'd have to do is either force perspective or CGI him to make him look bigger than he actually is but an actor from the movie The Ladykillers(Cohen Bros. remake). A hulk of a guy that can play dumb and equally smart. An actor by the name of Ryan Hurst. As far as The Sorceress...for the classic feel. The spiritual motherly guide...I'd go with Julianne Moore. But if I am to base it on look alone(Especially from the most recent series...maybe Desparate Housewives Marcia Cross). As far as Mekaneck or Buzz Off (Not too sure which one)...I orignally opted for Bruce Campbell. But I feel he may be too old. As far as Marlena...I do not know.

I totally support the idea of Marcia Cross as the Sorceress.

Anyone know an actor who could supply a good Orko voice?

Iam wondering could orko be put onscreen with out looking silly and campy, I mean he would have to be done with cgi, maybe make him darker physically, more serious. I think its a tough one to make orko look realistic onscreen and at the same time the comic relief.

Orko as a dark character? Not campy? I dunno about that. Orko is supposed to be odd...a klutz....a not so great magician. His character is supposed to be silly. An accidental foil more or less. With the emphasis on sword and sorcerey intermixed with technology...it doesn't have to be THAT realistic. Eternia is a reality all in its own. There's a mythos about it. The filmmakers should keep the fantasy elements about the film (Orko being one). They shouldn't make it so human. Should there be elements of humanity and such? Indeed. Because that was an emphasis in the original cartoon. As far as learning. Making characters more realistic would take away from the film and the mythology of what makes MOTU so great. If you make Orko more realistic...why not Battle cat? Why not Skeletor? and many of the other characters? Its a sci fi/fantasy franchise...and it should be kept that way. And LOL on the Jar Jar reference Dr. Fate! True and hilarious. As a matter of fact...Gwildor was put into the original film b/c well...they didn't have the technology to produce an Orko. (But the great Billy Barty was fantastic in the role none the less "Moo! Moo!") But now...with CGI...anything is possible. And for a movie like this...it would be a very very good thing.

He can't possibly come off worse than Jar Jar Binks.
Yea I know but that doesn't say much since jar jar was really bad IMO, I htink orko could be physicaly like a yoda type of character, maybe make him more real looking, and his clothes robes, could be a little washed out, to give him a more convincing look.

Well when I said more realistic I didn't mean like a human, I mean in terms of cgi skin texture, make him look real that when you see him you belief he's there with the other characters and not just a special effect, imagine gollum real or king kong real, and I like the silly aspect of orko, I just say they could make him in a way that we feel what he feels make us care for him as someone trying to improve himself to help his friends, just like i n the original series.

Maybe they should just get Gabe Khouth, who voiced Orko in the 2002 series (he also voiced Mekaneck) to do Orko's voice for the film. He sounded almost exactly like Lou Scheimer, who voiced Orko in the 1983 series (in addition to King Randor, Stratos, Man-E-Faces, Mekaneck, Zodac, Sy-Klone, Moss Man, Trapjaw, Tri-Klops, Kobra Khan, Clawful, Jitsu, Spikor, Two-Bad, Galen Nycroft/Modulok - he had to actually use a 2nd name for half those characters, "Erik Gunden" - and was also the series producer).
