Whack Arnolds said:LOL, at least you can be a good sport about it. I got no beef with any of you guys, or Brandon Routh. I was just making fun of the absurdity of not showing up for an hour or two because of a headache.

I bet you never experienced it when your head feels as if someone stabs you through the eye with a burning knive. Or how the throbbing, pulsing pain makes you nauseous when you do as much as move your head an inch. When every ray of light that hits you makes you want to puke and every little sound feels like someone put you into a church tower next to the bell. It's really great when you're unable to even write your own name correctly cause everytime you try to use you brain causes you clench your theeth in agony. It's a pleasure to talk like a ****ing ****** cause the mere process of forming the wods makes you feel dizzy. Yep, a severe headache is easy to get over with.!

GR was the definitive Superman of his era because he captured the essence of patriarch that is Superman. He's not Jesus, BTW, he's your Dad. Don't let the christians fool you, they try to take credit for everything, like christmas and easter, both peagan holidays origionally, celebrating winter and spring solstice respectively. That and it was a pioneering new show on TV in its infancy.
CR was the definitive Superman of his era because of his uncanny resemblance, and his exceptional performance in the dual role of Superman/CK. He convinced us a man could fly while acting in his flying rig, and Donner, and crew pioneered new flying effects that were so remarkable in '78 that they created a new Oscar catagory to honour them.
Dean Cain was the definitive Superman of his era because...he was the star of the show on TV? Was it because he wore the costume and the WB said he was Superman? Was it because it was what was on TV at the time?
See where I'm going with this line of thought? Although opinions are not entirely right or wrong, they are certainly not equal. Some have more merit than others.
musclesforsupes said:Dean cain is the best superman ever.
NateGray said:Umm you are not talking about opinions here nice try, trying to spin it that way though to bad you are just plain wrong....
Opinion are not based on anything nor do they have to be and you trying to say that some have more merit is BS you are talking facts vs opinions and they are not even in the same ballpark.
See Dean Cain was never really Superman in my opinion and you trying to shove facts into my opinion LMAO; Yeh nice try with that just because he was on a TV show for several years playing Superman my opinion must just be wrong huh....
Oh wait now I get it you are saying this so you can add credit to your opinions right because your OPINIONS have merit right....while those who disagree with you do not right.
You said in a previous post you want the time machine someone was using well I want the fantasy machine for the fantasy world you live in were opinions have to be based off facts.
NateGray said:I was just making a point that opinions need not be based off facts and do not need to be thats why they are called opinions.
MatchesMalone said:Opinions do not need to be based on facts. They do have to based on something. There is a difference between opinion and conformity. One is a judgement, the other is lack of judgement.
musclesforsupes said:LOL I just kiddinghis clark was okay Reeve still the best ever.

NateGray said:And exactly why does an opinion have to be based off anything? alot of people base opinions off feelings, there personal likes or dislikes etc etc etc.... unless you are agreeing with me you lost me here.
See above the second post you quoted me on and my opinion on Dean Cain as Superman its based merely off my feelings on the show its not conformity or a lack of judgement.
NateGray said:LMAO yeh cause this thread has been on track until you dereailed it....
Oh wait sorry that happened somewhere around page two hehe.![]()
MatchesMalone said:Explain to me how "feelings, personal likes and dislikes" are nothing. They are something. They are also previous opinions formulated prior to the current opinion. So now we have opinions based on opinions. Valid. All opinions arise from some external stimulus. An opinion is simply our reaction to this stimulus based on our previous experience and bias. This can include our knowledge of factual information or not.
For instance: Saying, "I like what I've seen so far of SR" is an opinion. It is a reaction to an outside stimulus based on your own personality.
Saying, "I know SR is going to be the best movie EVAR!" is not an opinion. There is no stimulus (the film) on which to form a judgement. That statement is a belief, not an opinion.
You misunderstand me when I say conformity is a lack of judgement. I am not qualifying it as "good" or "bad". I am saying that true conformity means ignoring your personal bias and adopting the bias of an external source. In other words, you give up the ability to judge, and follow the judgement of the entity to which you are conforming.
ROBOCOP CPU001 said:ok so ive re-read the thread..oldguy you are well aware that showtime was joking.whats got into you dude?
This attack which you have decided to launch on my friend here isn't like you..you have tried to provoke showtime and also metropolis man.. and i'm expecting you to jump on me too..

NateGray said:Well I have nothing against him (and have even agreed with some of his posts) but I expect him to attack me for my post as well for disagreeing that opinions have to be based off facts or that some have more merit than others.
