New Kojima interview with OPM UK

Yeah because your posts are the bastion of integrity and constructive critisism, oh wait.

Zenien posted something but I didn't read it.

Edit: I decided to read it and I'm glad I did, because I think I got another gay comment slung into me. :D

Just cut back on the damn chatting in the gaem. I fi want to save... Thats ALL I ****ING WANT TO DO. Not save and have a 20 minute conversation with a stupid ***** about old films or some crap

Seriously, SNAAKE is like a 13yo School girlconstantly chatting on the mobile phone... Alkl he needs is to get rid of the codec ring and replace it with a truer tone of Justin Timberlake's 'Sexy Back'

:down

Apart from that it rocks :o

Just hold down triangle (or skip whatever the button is) dude. :o

Besides Paramedic and Snake had AWESOME saving game conversations. :o

Fenrir, MGS4 is probably the best looking Japanese next gen game seen so far, and it's over or around a year until release.

It looks great sure, but next-gen is more than skin deep, honey. And in my estimation it still quite doesn't make the top 5 best looking games. It seems that the only thing Japs are good at is pushing polygon counts. Most of the special effects we've seen so far are definitely nothing impressive.

It's definately technically more proficient then anything else we've seen from Japan or at the very least you would have to include it among the front runners.

In cutscenes, yes. In gameplay, no.

Maybe you don't like the coloring choices and think it lends itself to being washed out but that's not the same as technical prowess.

I know that coloring has nothing to do with it. In fact, I kinda like the tone of MGS4. I'm a sucker for visual filters.

If you're citisizing an unfinished MGS4 for animations, I really wouldn't be using Gears as the benchmark, but whatever. The animations in question are all placeholders, who knows how much they'll change, the same goes for practically everything we've seen so far.

Maybe your pro-Sony tendencies don't allow you to, but drop the whole fangirl act and just be objective for a second. Take an hour playtest with Gears of War and just watch how lifelike the characters are. Their animations are lengthy and detailed. You can clearly see their facial expressions (especially when you botch a reload). The flow of animation is quite smooth. They breathe. They talk. All In-game. They don't need a friggin' cutscene to give the player the impression that these guys are alive. I want to see that in MGS4 and all next-gen games from this point onward.

You can obviously expect it to look a lot better leading up to release, and I disagree with you saying it looks so-so, but then again I do really care to have that debate with idiots like WHF trolling around in his typical ******ed fashion. He;d be better suited admitting his dreams where it's just him and another guy in situations where heterosexual guys would have a girl in the place of the guy then trolling this game and anything else that doesn't fit into his very narrow comfort zone. It's not looking amazing yet or anything, but you can really tell on the HD version that it's not average.

I also got the HD version of the GDC trailer that has those Metal Gears kicking the trucks and all that and it looks fabulous. But when I look at the HD gameplay footage it's just...meh. I don't doubt Kojima and his team will improve the looks of the game by the time it is released, but so far, it appears that MGS4 is also following the MGS tradition of the visuals given emphasis in cutscenes rather than in gameplay. MGS4 will be a treat to watch, that's for sure, but I'm not so enthusiastic about how good will it look in-game.

EDIT: The animations in AC aren't anything special, they just have a LOT of canned animation routines, there's no obsurd fuildity or detail to them. Shadow of the Colossus has better animation then AC by a landslide.

Granted, the transition of one animation to the other looks quite choppy at this stage, but I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about the vast number of animations they've got for different things and the level of detail in it. And come on, this is the Prince of Persia team we're talking about, creators of arguably the best, most smoothly animated game from last-gen. There's no way they'd botch this up. Plus, even at this stage, it still looks infinitely more impressive as a next-gen game during gameplay than MGS4 and that's my point all along.

I'll play MGS4 on the 360 when Konami forces Kojima to go multiplatform....like everyone else.

:p

Apparently, there was a recent 1UP podcast where someone in Kojima Productions was asked about MGS 4 for the 360 and he ignored the topic completely. Leads one to wonder and seeing as how this rumor started in EGM and EGM got the Oblivion ports for the PS3 and PSP along with PSU, well, it gives more credibility to their rumor section.

I've said it before, I'll say it again. If MGS4 ports to the 360, then I have no incentive to purchase a PS3.

What I want to know is if it's even possible. The PS3's controller has a tilt feature that Kojima said would be implemented into gameplay. If the 360 controller is uncapable of this tilt function, how will they rework the gameplay to adjust to the system?

Oh, and for the record, a big ":csad:" to all the MGS-haters :csad:.

And one more thing:

Young Snake may be involved in the story after all!

Holy Testicle Tuesday !!

I enjoy the Splinter Cell series and Metal Gear series equally.

And I sure hope MGS4 gets onto the 360

Kojima has already said it isn't going to any platform but a Sony platform and if/when he makes a 360/wii game it would be a totally new IP.

I'm looking forward to whatever the heck that idea he's had fopr a game for years that he's going to be making after MGS4. Let's see what it is (In 2 years :o)

It's been a long time since I've seen you on here, dude.

Kojima talks a lot of bull, a LOT of bull. If Konami says "Hey, your going multiplatform" he's going to go multiplatform with it. I could honestly careless, I refuse to buy a PS3 for ONE game.

He has crazy metaphors but he doesn't talk bull.

It's your loss, you won't be playing MGS4.

I believe Kojima said that he wished the PS3 still had the rumble feature so, if he does make a port, he can do what he wanted to do with the 360 rumble.

He's said he's going to use tilt; no idea how much of snakes new moves seen in the trailer are tilt based though, if at all. The flipping over/rolling seems like an obvious supsect.

Yeah, looks like the cool worm crawl thing he does in the footage will probably be done that way.
