New Live Action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Movie In The Works? - Part 3

Every year we seem to go through this when movies are cast and every year people have to eat crow...i wish people could see this place when Ledger was first cast as Joker

At least that was just one casting decision. Was there much else people b****ed about back then? Not counting stuff like the costume. This project just looks like a wreck every way you look at it. I'm already waiting for the Ken Jeong or John Turturro casting announcement.

Really the only real thing people are b****ing about is Bay being involved.

Even if Bay were out of the picture, I can hardly count any positives right now.

The turtle casting is fine. Though I would have liked to see them cast one asian guy out of the four as they did in the first flick.

Do you think we will see the design of the turtles or some sort of teaser by summers end?

Isn't Fox married to Brian Austin Green?

How deliciously inappropriate.
Sucks considering it's not true.

The "funny" thing is Rebel Wilson made a Megan Fox joke at the MTV Movie Awards about a casting couch. She said it smelled like Fox.

Something she's not telling us?

Megan Fox as April O'Neil
Will Arnett as (let's face it) Shredder
Danny Woodburn as Splinter
Four No Names as the Turtles

Seriously - Why is this movie happening? :barf:

The 'four names' shouldn't be a negative because it's irrelevant; they're gonna be CGIed after their motion performance anyway. In fact, I liked the fact that they're all mostly unknown and supposedly, decent character and comedic actors.

And I don't think Arnett will be Shredder. The reality is, if he is indeed Shredder, then it's a big warning sign. (No offense, Mr. Arnett.)

If in the next few weeks, we don't get a casting of Shredder, then yeah, this could be a problem. Personally, I still think Arnett is going to play Krang.

BTW, this is coming from just sheer guessing and not meant to be taken seriously, but I wouldn't be surprised if Danny's casting was influcned by Singer's casting of Peter Dinklidge in the next X-Men film. The only difference being that Peter is much more high profile than Danny (obviously) but perhaps it was a conscious and deliberate 'HUH' casting on the TMNT team's part.

In a movie, where a rat is teaching 4 Turtles in the art of Ninjutsu, do we really need to question why he'd use an asian accent?

Or maybe he did something in the audition that impressed the casting director and director.

A Caucasian man was cast... So it leads me to believe he's not gonna have an Asian accent.

Of course. That's why I made it clear that my comment isn't meant to taken too seriously. I'm avoiding weird endless debates about silliness, despite the fun here.

I do think he'll have a gruff voice of some sort, that won't sound totally Asian but it could have a slight Eastern/spiritual influence.

I don't know how Kevin Clash looks to you, but he clearly isn't asian. Yet we had him with an asian accent as Splinter in the first movie. And my comment is more directed at your question why a rat turned humanoid would have an asian accent. Which, btw, was the exact same origin used in the first Movie.

A rat is a pet for several years of a japanese Ninjutsu Master. So he probably picked up the accent, just like he picked up the mad ninja skills.

I didn't mean to play wet blanket to your fun....I think that the actor may have a hidden range but because the only roles in Hollywood are short clowns we may not see it. Who knew watching Star Wars that Mark Hamill would be amazing as Joker? After being on this site for so long and seeing this type of reactions to casting I've taken a wait and see type attitude. This could be the worst thing committed to film but as I learned as a filmmaker most films are made in the editing suite.
