Let the rain fall down And wake my dreams Let it wash away My sanity 'Cause I wanna feel the thunder I wanna scream Let the rain fall down I'm coming clean, I'm coming clean

While I agree with you, SOnic CD ruled hardcore mofo, and it had levels that were never very defined in their themes. Still though, this one could actually be good, since Sonic Team USA has nothing to do with it.

Sonic has no pp...:(

Sonic's world has always been pretty dark, though. The earlier games used to have goofy looking robotic animals, but over the course of time, and the cartoon series, the enemies and places he went were pretty dark and morbid, which contrasted his 1930's cartoonish look.

Ah, ok. Yeah, I'm only familiar with the original Genesis games.

She just needs to gain ten-twenty pounds back.

I've always loved Sonic games ever since i grew up with genesis. It was my favorite platformer and pretty much still is...that is up until Sonic Adventures 2...when it all started going down hill.

I really hope this game breaths new life into the franchise as it has taken many many hits with it's game's quality since Sonic Adventure.

but gorram do those pictures look promising!

looking very nice.

i might get a ps3 before a revolution.

What I always loved about Sonic is that there is dizzying heights within the game. I hope they use that within the game.. I mean they have the technology and graphics to really make the levels within the sonic game truly awe inspiring. It's crazy. He's always been my favorite charector.
It could be the coolest thing yet. Lets hope the PS3 comes out sooner then Nov!

Sonic was my very first true video game ever. What I always liked about the 2D games was the beautiful sceneries complimented with an awesome soundtrack that complimented the background. I also loved how the robots also went along with the theme of the level and background as well. In the level Angel Island on Sonic 3 you had tropical Hawain music with safari animal looking robots.

The problem in the 3D games is that they quit making themed levels in many parts of the game. Most of the robots were the same in other levels and didn't resemble anything that would coincide with the background and theme of the level. The soundtrack became to "rock n' roll" or hip-hop for the sake of keeping up with the mainstream. I hope they certainly go back to the roots of the old 2D games and use what was not broken.

i agree. i do miss the orchastrated music in those 2D platform sonic games. the game creators do need to go back to that. i think this game will be good, ill have to check it out when it comes out.

I really hope for some traditional stages. I hate it when a classic character is matured to the point where that character and their sereis feels unfamiliar.

I just want to play as Sonic and NO ONE else. Maye Tails but as long as Tails is NOT fight in some stupid robot or machine. That was stupid. I want levels with themes that coincide with the soundtrack and robots.

Apparently you play as Sonic and a Sonic Doopleganger of some sort, and that's it. Which suits me just fine.

Shadow had potential for his own franchise, but Sega sure ruined that. I sincerly hope they learn from the misteps of Sega USA and stick to a simpler more foucsed premise.

As for Sonic being 'stretched out' I think he looks fine, they sort of tried to do the same thing in Sonic Adventure 2, but Sonic looks so incredible in this game that I don't think his new proportions are offputting at all.

He would look so weird if they tried to make him resemble the Sonic Adventure 1 look.

Its official... SONIC creator Yuji Naka has left SEGA.

http://www.next-gen.biz/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=2969&Itemid=2

Yuji Naka, the creator of the Sonic series for Sega, has left the building.

Naka will be move on to start-up Prope Studios, which the savvy amongst us might recognize as a tranfiguration of the insinuating word "Probe", but with an enantiomorphic, upside down 'b'. Supposedly, it's based off of the Latin word meaning "'beside' and 'near' future." In other words, its gibberish.

Naka hasn't left by flinging a molotov cocktail down on his bridge to Sega, though. Sega has provided 10% of the start-up capital for Prope and all signs indicate that Sega and Prope will work together in the future on any titles Naka aims to create.

No titles announced yet, but we're betting Naka didn't leave Sega just so he could be the outsource on another Sonic
