Spider-Man is getting back to his roots in a new animated TV series.

Marvel Comics' popular web-slinger superhero returns to his teenage years and his earliest days as a superhero in Marvel's Spider-Man, premiering next year on Disney XD.
"Spider-Man is the biggest action hero in the world. He is an iconic character whose duality makes him both relatable and aspirational for the Disney XD audience," says Marc Buhaj, senior vice president, programming and general manager for Disney XD. He promises "a fresh take on a beloved classic that will engage both new and existing Spidey fans with its compelling drama, exciting action and the signature sense of comedy."

Headed up by story editor Kevin Shinick (Robot Chicken) and supervising director Philip Pignotti (Marvel's Avengers Assemble), the new show focuses on insecure yet courageous teenager Peter Parker as he learns that with great power comes great responsibility — especially when you get the strange abilities of a spider.

hope it's less USM and more SSM/Spider-Man TAS. However, bringing the supervising director of Avengers Assemble doesn't bode well with me. Still cautiously optimistic tho,and I still want Keaton to return as Spidey

That Spidey design reminds be a bit of SSM, the logo looks really neat, hopefully it's better than USM.

It's about time.

To be honest, I thought it would've been Slott's ASM run being tweaked or even canned to tie in with Spider-Man: Homecoming but Ultimate Spider-Man INO works, too.

Not to mention he's gonna be one of the main Avengers in the comics (Baxter Building being their new HQ, him being the genius/financial Benefactor although I still don't know how to feel about it), There'll be an ongoing where his marriage is still intact...

it seems like Marvel is back to putting more focus on Pete/Spidey. Plus they've got different versions of Peter for fans who want different things (Adult married Peter in RYV, super-genius Avenger extraordinaire in the new upcoming Avengers title, teen Spidey in the MCU that fans can/will grow up etc). And we still have that Animated movie to look forward to.

Think all Spidey fans should agree with this. There really is something for everyone and that has me oh, so happy.

This is a surprise hopefully it can be has good has spectacular or the 90s show has they are easly the 2 best Spider-Man cartoons and ultimate Spider-Man was such a bad show.

So apparently a clip was shown showing Peter Parker literally two weeks after being bitten by the spider, so he's not even with his traditional costume yet - he stops a vibranium robbery before fighting the Vulture. He goes to Horizon High School, led by Max Modell. Plus Dan Slott is serving as a consultant for the show.

No idea. That said, I think it's a given the show will fall in-line somewhat with Homecoming at the very least, given the fact that they're going back to high school yet again and there's also this:

Which bugs me. I don't really like Horizon Labs or anything Horizon related. Slott being involved is worrisome, too.
