About the voice actors; if they wanted this more attached to the film they probably wouldn't hire the movie actors to do voice over here, we didn't get to hear movie voice actors and actresses voice character in Avengers Assemble, so I do not expect to hear Tom Holland.

I know Spider-Man is reputed to be a man-child in the comics right now, but what I read before dropping Spider-Man by the end of 2012 he was not like this, it might be cause I'm a bit easy on him, or maybe it's cause after seeing a big number of trolls on the internet over the years he feels so so mature in comparison that I just don't feel any dislike toward how he is depicted.
More sketches from Grace Liu

Peter looks like a character from an 80s anime.
Wonder if that is a source of inspiration for character designs.

Fans hold SSM to such a high standard that nothing gets a chance to be better.
Same with the SM2 Film.

Doesn't even need to be Keaton or Bell ill accept somebody new. Maybe they'll get an actual 15 year old.

SSM lives on a high standard it raises our expectations, or in this case, it's more like hopes.

It doesnt have be as good as SSM. And thats OK.

Yeah, I'd be fine with it just simply being a good Spider-man show. Holding a show to such a high standard is pretty much why a lot of hardcore and militant fans of Spider-man TAS criticize pretty much any show that game afterwards. Usually because those shows aren't like TAS.

Stuff like this tends to happen whenever a movie franchise gets rebooted as well.

I want to see Scorpion in this show, we haven't seen him in Spectacular like I hoped we were promised, Norman Osborn called him on the phone in one episode (I don't remember which, but it had Morrie Bench as a technician at Oscorp), and the Scorpion we got in Ultimate Spider-Man is basically a one time baddy based on Hanzo Hasashi.
And I'd love to see him in a movie.

I don't mind seeing Kingpin in this show, as long as they don't make him anywhere near as overpowered as the folks behind the 90s cartoon made him, and it will be fun if like Michael Clarke Duncan voiced Kingpin in 2003 show, we get Vincent D'Onofrio voice Kingpin for this series.

I would love to see Scorpion in this show. Been too long since we got any animated hijinks with him.

I wouldn't know about the USM version lol.

P.S. I feel like an animated Kingpin voiced by D'Onofrio would be terrifying lol

I don't think that's necessarily true. SSM was damn good, but it wasn't perfect. Kitty Kraven and the overuse of "bro" spring to mind.

But it did set a high bar. I don't need this show to match it, but if it takes inspiration from it I wouldn't be sad.

You're not missing anything.
Except for Iron Fist stuff, that character is cool.

I'm more interested in hearing it now.
And it's less likely to happen considering they don't want to scare kids away from a cartoon aimed at children.

I didn't mind the use of Ultimate 6 mutation instead of classic use of strengthening herbs, it fits the theme of choice they went with for the show.
And I find the bro thing to be a nice touch, better than old acquaintances who one of them happens to be creepy even before the alien ooze stuff.

I didn't like those things either. TSSM isn't perfect, but almost.

Not finding anything about the news of Ultimate Spider-Man ending on YouTube made me question the idea of this being a TV show, and I checked the front page to see the news are TV show.

Wonder if this will do like 1981 and have two shows running concurrently in the same year.

I've never been a fan of the Kitty Kraven look. Just keep him superpowered, why make him like like Lion-O?

And I loved the relationship dynamic between Eddie and Pete, I just didn't like the use of the actual word "bro" so often. It reeked a bit of "what's the slang the young kids are using these days? Let's use it as much as possible!" But the actual relationship was handled very well.

But overall SSM was a great adaptation. It's still (in my humble option) the best adaptation of Spider-man to date, including the films thus far.

As much as TSSM got right, I felt like this was unnecessary. Not that it was specifically bad or anything, just...overkill. I can see the pros and cons of it, but for me the cons outweigh the pros regarding a Kitty Kraven (love that nickname btw lol).

I think it was definitely intentional, but not in that way--the "appeal to kids at all costs" way. It really didn't bother me, but I guess at the time I was around a bunch of middle school and high school kids who called each other bro a lot. I still use the term infrequently.

 Dang right. :spidey:

In regards to the whole "kitty Kraven" stuff in Spectacular, to be fair, Weisman did say that the reason for that was because they had more plans for Kraven and that would have been important in the show's long term run and that John Jameson would have somehow gotten involved. My guess is it would have had something to do with him becoming Man-Wolf.

I liked the use of the word bro, it felt normal to me.

Is there any images released yet? Curious if they will use the same costume.

I'm obviously looking forward to this project, however, for as much as I love Peter I've got to say that I'm kinda disappointed to see how much attention he (and no one else) seems to be getting.

A live-action movie plus an animated one and an animated series? That seems rather excessive, at least to me. Why couldn't at least the animated movie be about another spider-hero? Like, say, Spider-Gwen.

Oh well. In any case, it's good to see that USM's reign of terror is finally over. :hehe:

There was so much in that show that was long-developing. It's a crying shame we'll probably never know what any of it was. :(

 Normal and natural IMO, not forced as some seem to think.

Truth is, Peter Spider-Man moves merchandise. And he's a top-3 superhero ever in almost anyone's eyes. If it ain't broke, Marvel won't fix it. From a business standpoint, who could blame them?

Nothing wrong with using bro but both how much they used it and how the actor would say it would make it irritating. Another thing that bothered me about Eddie was how much he got mad at Peter that one time for selling his pictures when he knows uncle ben isnt around to provide anymore. Seemed like an out of character moment just to start sending eddie down the path of being a *****e.
