Homecoming New Spider-Man animated series coming in 2017

The creator of TAS has said that Unlimited is a wholly different universe.

(despite my favorite VA being Rino Romano)[/SPOILER]

"My web fluid is topped off already!"

"I'm already at full health!"
:p

German Doc Ock is awful, IMO, and my headcanon voice is definitely Josh Keaton.

HOWEVER: The PS1 games are some of the best adaptations of the Spidey mythos ever. I friggin' LOVE those games. Played my copy of "Enter Electro" until it skipped, but my copy of the first is still going strong.

Nearly everything about them is great. Stan Lee narration. Wider MU acknowledged but not served over the main story (inclusion of Beast in Enter Electro, cameos at the end of the first, mentions of other heroes, Daredevil cameo, Human Torch meeting[!!!]). So much to love.

 :funny:

I'm still a little annoyed that a sequel to Enter Electro was never made. There will still villains that haven't been used in that continuity and Spidey was still considered a criminal.

It's nice that you talk about these games now, I had fun playing Enter Electro again yesterday, and I played the fun -yet have no purpose to the in-story gameplay- training missions.
I strongly agree with you zeptron, I wish we had a third one of those, but with movie licensed games they probably had no interest in spending time and budget on more Rino Romano.

Would've loved to have seen how they could've done Gobby or Kraven.

I was always disappointed that the only Goblins we got were in the training areas.

Those games played a huge role in making me the Spidey fan I am today and they'll always hold a special place in my heart. Without them, I don't know that I'd have been as excited to see Spider-Man in 2002 or grab the game that came with it for PS2.

Really, these games and TAS were fundamental to my love for Spider-Man lore.

Ditto.

To be fair, I'm pretty sure the manual for the first game listed Norman and Harry as being deceased. I wonder if they didn't know how to handle flying enemies. Besides Goblin and Vulture, there was also Beetle's cameo in Enter Electro, where he shows up for a single cutscene and isn't mentioned again. Electro also didn't really fly in either of his boss fights, and Spidey's combat really wasn't built for more maneuverable enemies.

But yeah, I would loved a third game. They did such a good job capturing the charm and humor of Spider-Man. And they're practically the only Spider-Man games where the camera doesn't get wonky when you crawl on the ceiling.

The first one maybe, the second one got wonky for me.

Anyway, we're going way overboard with pushing the discussion away from the topic it's about.
I want to see Mysterio again.

Mysterio, The Jackal & Hammerhead are my most wanted hopefuls.

:woot:

Would definitely be interesting to see the Jackal, considering the closest we ever got was Miles Warren in TAS.

I think the hard part about doing a Jackal story in a cartoon is the need for a main character's death. Not saying it's impossible by any stretch, especially now after some of the Slott Jackal stories but it does carry that stigma by and large.

I'd love to see an adapted Spider-Island.

I recently saw this on toonzone. It's a style guide for the show apparently.

Looks nice.
Miles and Spider-Gwen returning for the new show is nice.
This take on Peter is a teenager, so maybe he and Gwen should date.
Mysterio, The Jackal & Hammerhead are my most wanted hopefuls.

If they avoid the clones, I won't mind him being there.

The days of Spiderman having a proper solo show are long gone apparently. Marvel won't rest until they make Miles and Spider Gwen a thing.

Even though it's not a sequel to SSM, I'd love it if Josh Keaton came back

Fun fact: you can find the Goblin lair in one level. Peter says, "I wonder who those pumpkin bombs belong to?

I think that the PS2 game adaptation for SM1 was made in place of a third game. There are quite a number of similarities.

I'm thinking they want Miles and Gwen in the show for diversity (which has become such a buzz word these days). My lack of faith in the show comes from how awful USM was and I don't think other Marvel animated series have been good either. Too childish for my taste.

As I've said before, I'm way more interested in the Sony animated film coming in 2018. I'm hoping it will be Peter, but I would be okay with them using Miles for that one since we probably won't get to see him in the MCU, and it'll be different from the live action movies. It'll keep things fresh for audiences.

Yay, more team-ups. :whatever:

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Peter, Gwen and Miles all attend Horizon High together and they all share duties as Spider-Man/Spider-Gwen.

RIP solo Spider-Man.

I'll have to disagree there. Josh is one of a kind and all, but I'd rather another new voice actor get a crack at Spider-Man.

Kinda like how Yuri Lowenthal, who only voiced Spider-Man in TASM mobile games, is gonna be voicing him in Spider-Man PS4.

Let's just hope this Venom is Eddie Brock.

I don't care what they do because I won't be watching. Just like I didn't care that Harry was Venom in USM because I didn't really watch it while it aired. Now that it's almost over, I've gone and watched some episodes and it's not so bad in the later seasons.

What are the odds Gwen and Miles make out in this too. :P

Love triangle.

Don't expect any hook ups or romance in this show. Marvel animation don't do that anymore since Disney bought Marvel.Apparently kids can't handle it.
