That's really nice, I quite like it. The line; "I had a father, his name was Ben Parker" plays a notable role for this show.
Hey look, another homage to the Sam Raimi Spidey films, this time in Spider-Man 2. This show will be rich in taking inspirations from the movies that built the foundation for the legacy of the genre.

Marsha Griffin: I think every time we looked at a story during this season, not that it hasn’t been done in other seasons, but one of our primary motivating factors in every episode was, “What’s the Peter story?” It’s not just about the villain. It’s not just about the action story that’s driving it. We wanted to make sure that the emotional center of the story [was served], the relationship between Harry and Peter — which forms the core of the season...what’s the Peter of the story? What is going on in Peter’s internal world, with his friends, with his family? Always bringing it back to a story about people, and about things that kids can relate to. The struggle of keeping a secret; that what you do could put the people you love in danger. We were always trying to get back to that center.

Cort Lane: And frankly, having access to Horizon gave us an opportunity to give him access to a lot of tech. But he makes it himself. We didn’t want it handed to him, we wanted him to create it and have the means to do that.

Lane: watching the fun of him not quite doing it right on first. [blackout]Figuring out the pressure setting on his webshooters is an ongoing thing in those beginning episodes[/blackout], because that’s something you have to figure out.

Griffin: Peter is just starting to master some of his own powers by the time that Miles winds up getting his powers, so Peter suddenly has to take on the role of a mentor, but it’s a comedy of errors, because Peter’s suddenly put in a position of having to be the guide to someone when he has not yet mastered his own [powers].

I think they kind of represent two sides of a hero. Peter is much more the rational, practical thinker; and Miles represents the other side of the situation, which is impulsive. Running into a building, not thinking about the consequences. That’s how we play them. We get to see both sides of what it means, and the impulse that anyone would have when they get powers — “I can fly, I’m just going to fly everywhere” — when you don’t take other things into consideration, or you just race in without thinking. Peter’s the thinking side of the equation.

And I think they both have to learn something from each other over the course of the series. Peter has to learn to drop his guard, Peter has to learn to open up. Miles is willing to tell anybody that he has powers. Peter has to learn that sometimes keeping a secret may not be the best thing in the world, and Miles has to learn responsibility and tempering his brash nature from Peter. It’s again showing the duality of a hero.

Let’s talk about villains, which is always going to be a major part of a Spider-Man story.
Just in the first two episodes we see Vulture, Scorpion, Smythe, Otto Octavius — though he isn’t a villain yet.

Lane: He will be. He has a wonderful arc that’s the reverse of Peter’s. It’s actually beautiful to behold, and we do crazy things with it in season 2. Very excited about that.

Jackal is a big villain, and he’s connected to our characters in a very personal way. We worked hard at making the villains and the villain threats personally connected to Peter and the people close to him, so the scopes are not just epic, in terms of saving the city, but also very emotional. And we do a very classic Venom storyline — black suit Spider-Man, trying to get rid of Venom — and I think that’s something we haven’t done in a very long time.

Is it Eddie Brock? Or Flash Thompson?

Lane: One of those!

Fantastic. If only they had a similar line of thought in the MCU

I'm really excited to see the Jackal. He's probably my favorite Spider-Man villain that isn't Octavius or Norman, and he hasn't appeared in anything outside of the comics. John DiMaggio is an excellent choice to voice him.

The one thing that irks me is how all the kids help out.
No wonder those guys suit up.

"This show is about teamwork"

FFS just let Spidey be a solo hero, and why make everyone a science genius smh

Yep...sigh...

When I was watching this video I thought, that's....kinda boring. Makes them too a like, and that is the problem with having Peter in a school for geniuses, Peter's intellect doesn't stand out now.

Dan Slott is a supervisor for this show, it shouldn't be surprising to have one of his creations. Come to think of it, he should be in one of these videos.

Dan Slott will be playing a janitor at Horizon High who gives Peter and his friends advice. :o

Yeah he is the advice guy. I was just teasing because I'm not a fan of that.
I like using Stan Lee for that role, and I believe with him that a 90 years old janitor can be promoted to a school headmaster.

It kinda feels like a slap in the face hiring Josh Keaton to play Norman. He's a talented voice actor and so it makes sense that you'd hire him to play anyone really, as I'm sure he'll do a great job. But, he's the best voice actor to play Spider-Man and instead of having him reprise the role, he's been relegated to playing one of the villains.

It's bad enough we have Quesadilla appearing in this show but if they actually decide to put Slott in here too...what a joke.

I'm put off by the idea that they are making this into a Spider-verse show. But I suppose they gotta sell some more toys.

How is it a slap in the face?

I actually like the idea. He did voice mad scientist future Peter Parker in Edge of Time.

Getting to play Norman after he played Pete seems like a much bigger deal than who Chris D Barnes got to do for later shows. Like with everyone else, including Uncle Ben, Keaton sounds younger than I'm used to, but I look forward to seeing how he does it.

Keaton doesn't own the role of Spider-Man. Other talented people did a good job as the character before, and some did a good job after as well.

You know... I'll have to hear Keaton as Norman... His voice sounds...youthful...

Ugh bringing in miles and all these damn spidermen just ruin the uniqueness of Peter .

Well...yeah... and he's not even the smart one once they all go to this academic science school, so they are all smart...
