New Spiderman cartoon from Sony is coming out!

Thank God... maybe if they won't make sequels they will make extensions in the toons at least...

That would be a good alternative.

Now that's cool... I hope it's close to the movies as well... since Sony is making this cartoon.

I love what SW did with the clone wars toons... even though they weren't great like the Animated Batman series was... they filled the holes in the story...

I wonder if this will be the movie version of the characters or the comic book version.

I strongly doubt they will retell the entire story through the toons just to stay true to the comics... they got good material to work with... but some of the comics were quite graphic so I doubt they will follow it word for word... I'm hoping they stick with the movie material being true to the comics from that point on

Did the article say Sony was making a ongoing series or a movie?

Either way, I just hope it's better than the MTV Spiderman series and the FOX animated series from the 90's. If it came out as good as the recent Ultimate Avengers movie I'd be pleasantly surprised.

I hope it's USM. That'd be sweet.

I don't think they are going to base the toons directly off ASM or USM from start to finish... what would be the point in that??? Just go out and read the comics then... that's why I'm thinking they are just extensions or the same crap we got in the 90's toons...

If its USM I hope they use the kid that voiced Spidey/PP in the game to do the show

I hope it's not connected to the movies, that just limits it, they need to do Ultimate :spidey: .

you know what? i'm tired of seeing a college-aged spiderman on tv. they need to change for a little while, make it more like the current comics. maybe start off with MJ and peter, both graduated a few years ago from college, already in a serious relationship, and she know's he's spider-man.

MTV series was an extension of the first movie

Exactly... just extensions are all they should be...

Ultimate peter parker is like 14 or 15... not college aged

Another reason why UMS toons would be crap... too geared to children and obviously they can't be graphic cause they are toons...

hey I liked the spiderman toons from the 90's...except the ridiculos lazers the police use. In the episode with the 5 forgotten warriors it does a flash back to ww2 and the nazis had lazers i thought that was hillarious.

I dont think USM is geared towards kids... It's def not as gritty as the original but it's not a kiddy comic either

The 90's toons were awesome. The lazers were because FOX put restrictions on the show. One of which being no real guns. Another was they couldn't say things like killed, or death, or blood. So if you notice they always say destroyed or plasma.

Just that the 14/15 year old kids... that's why I lost interest in cartoons while ago... they remade SM/Xmen/Batman toons with like teenagers... not that they were all bad... just killed it though for me...

I would have prefered if they re-commissioned the MTV series.

It's a pretty vague quote.

Arad said they were going to do a second season of the crappy MTV series that got cancelled.
