Look, all I know so far about Darwin's persona/psyche is that he's a good man and is sad about how the Vulcan thing played out.

Does that qualify as B-list?

He's so innocent and all he cares about is saving Xavier. I think his character is just cooler.

Because writers actually have to get kinda creative in how he uses his powers so that he doesn't get killed first before he evolves, instead of changing automatically like Lifeguard did so that she was one big plot device.

I think the nature of Lifeguard's & Darwin's is what makes them so different. Darwin's powers manifest in a way to help him survive. Lifeguard's powers manifest in a way that allows her to protect others, as well as herself.

When falling, Darwin's body becomes rubbery and durable, and he has to tuck & roll the landing. Lifeguard just grew wings.

I don't get what was up with Lifeguard's skin turning into gold, though. I could understand if she turned into a durable metal, but gold? Why not turn into aluminum or tin?

She turned gold like that because she was really some half Shi'ar imperial guard or some such. I liked it better when she was just a simple mutant.

i'm sick for thinking this...but...i wonder...if Lifeguard were stranded on a deserted island with a bunch of chicks...in order to save life would she grow a di_k? prolly not. she'd just turn into a boat or something.

Now Darwin....i wonder if he would grow a di_k if stranded on a island with other women...LMAO..i slay me....but if he were stranded with other men...would he adapt and turn into a female?...things i ponder..yeah, im twisted.

She turned gold like that because she was really some half Shi'ar imperial guard or some such. I liked it better when she was just a simple mutant.

She turned gold (I don't think it was really GOLD but a golden metal anyhow) to protect herself from physical harm. She turned feral and birdlike with a blood lust due to the Shi'ar connection. And she wasn't Shi'ar imperial guard... she was nobility. Basically, it was confirmed that she was the daughter of either D'Ken, Lilandra, or Deathbird... though she was dropped before it could be further developed. That's why I think she would have been perfect for Bru's arc. Oh well.
