If Santo goes, who'll be comic relief AND muscle? Match was the 2nd funniest and we rarely see him anymore and Nehzno can't even wipe his butt w/o fear of a stroke.

We have Nehzno for muscle and I dont find Santo all that funny

Nehzno's nowhere near as durable. Santo's not "haha, omg that was a funny joke" funny but he lightens situations. I can only take so much of Surge brooding, Mercury whining, Dust praying, Wolfcub sulking, and Elixir reflecting. Somebody has to smile once in a while

haha, Elixir is the only one of that bunch that I like. He, Julian, X-23 and Prodigy make the book worth reading for me. The rest are dispensible

Caliban gets shot and X-23 avenges what happened to Hellion by killing Deathstrike. B--ch deserved that one

First of all, Hellion lives. Beast and David operated, and he's recovering.
The first death is Lady Deathstrike's. When she confronts Wolverine, he decides not to bother with her, and turns the fight over to X-23. As you might have guessed, X-23 is pissed at Deathstrike for stabbing Hellion. Well, X-23 dislodges Deathstrike's arm, disables her cybernetics, and beats the crap out of her. Then Laura finishes her off with a good impaling.
The second death is Caliban. A Reaver was about to shoot Warpath in the back, and Caliban jumped in the way. That's about it.

There's a single page and a single panel in which one character (Emma) says that many of the students were killed during the sentinel attack. It's like they don't even want the deaths to have impact, anymore...

oh no, none of the students were killed in the recent sentinel attack. Emma said that they MIGHT have been killed, just like many of her students were, referring to the original Hellions being killed off in UXM 281, at least thats how I interpreted the scenes

Lady Deathstrike is one of the more vicious X-Villains, and I had hoped she'd hang around a bit longer before being offed. Plus, they let X-23 just completely blow Lady D away, which is completely impossible. Deathstrike has umpteen years of experience, had gone toe to toe with characters that could cut X-23 to shreds... and she just gets sliced up in a few panels? Lame as all hell. I can't stand Kyle or Yost anymore. I hope X-Factor tanks.

Well, here's the thing...

I assume she means some of her students were just killed by the ONE sentinel attack. However, now that I think about it, she could also be talking about the original Hellions, who were killed by sentinels. It's a toss-up.

I like to think of Deathstrike's death at the hands of such a new character as symbolism for just how tired of her some of us are.

Also, I'm sure you mean X-Force. You hope X-Force tanks. X-Factor is Peter David's book about Multiple Man's team, and it is awesome.

I dont recall anyone saying they were bored with her. Lady Deathstrike is annoying and she's so one note and has little going for her. I get tired of her rants whenever she comes face to face with Wolverine and this villian does nothing for me. I would be happy if I never saw her again.

And the battle wasnt that easy. She got in quite a few good hits.

It was her own arrogance and underestimation of Laura that did her in. She was breeded as a killer from birth and what happened to Julian brought that all back out of her. She was running on adrenaline and rage and her only mission at that moment was to kill. Most of the time Wolverine has faced Deathstrike in the past, he was fighting to stop her and/or contain her, not kill. X-23 was in a completely different mindset and wasnt holding anything back

I agree. It just screams favoritism to me on the writer's parts. If they wanted us to believe it more, they would have made it more easily matched, because Lady D is in no way that much of a pushover, or at least extend it so that both live, but maybe the revenge comes later. Offing her so quick made no sense to me other than to let the writers pimp their little ***** some more.
