Is the Hellions graphic novel good? I've been thinking of getting it, and I always pick it up at Barnes and Noble, but then I just end up leaving without buying it or even reading a bit.

It's good it shows the hellions being the good guy.

The Hellion trade is excellent. They did something there that they hadn't done in the main series in actually making Tag a relatable and cool character. It was the mini that really made me like him (and resulted in me really getting mad at his depowerment and death). I think that story's one of the best of the entire New Mutants/Academy X/New X-Men run.

How many graphic novels are there of this series?

I've been collecting the comics since they've been called the New Mutants. The last comic one I got was the 2nd issue where Prodigy's powers were at their limit and it showed Elixir's dead body.

I also have the Hellions Graphic Novel. Are there any others?

There's one New Mutants trade (collecting issues 1-6). Sadly enough, they never released a trade for the second half of the series, which makes me mad to no end.

Then there's 3 trades for New X-Men: Academy X (Pre-House of M).
New X-Men: Academy X - Choosing Sides (Issues 1-6)
New X-Men: Academy X - Haunted (Issues 7-11)
New X-men: Academy X - X-Posed (Issues12-15 and the Yearbook Special)

Then chronologically you'd read New X-Men: Academy X - Hellions

Then after that there's the House of M: New X-Men: Academy X

Then after that the new creative team took over and the term 'Academy X' was dropped. And there's been only one trade released:

New X-Men:Childhood's End Vol. 1

But New X-Men: Childhood's End Vol. 2 is due out in the next few months I do believe.

Are you reading the trade or the individual issues? Because you'll have to buy the issues for issues 7-13, but they're actually better than the first half.

Just got done New Mutants. I'm really glad I read this cuz I'm definately a Sofia fan now(too bad she's gone). I was always on the fence about how I felt about Josh, but this was the deciding factor. I officially dislike him

Heh... Josh is hit and miss for me. I didn't use to like him, but he's growing on me. Sofia was great in New Mutants in my opinion. They really need to freakin' release the second volume of that!!
