Yeah, he's pretty solid. But to compare him to Fincher is way off.

Yeah noone competes with Fincher haha. At least in terms of style that guys in a league of his own. Even with his more subtle films.

Mangold directs actors well, as long as he has a decent script it should be a well put together film with good performances.

It goes with the territory of being moody loner with a paunchant for violence :) !

The casting for this is good, they have surprisingly went authentic with the Japanese casting, and Biel is underrated IMO.

The article says there are 3 characters in the Marvel universe called Viper, interesting.

Hugh has arrived in Australia - photos of him and family playing Aussie Rules football on Bondi Beach in this article. It also says filming starts next week. Beard coming along nicely. Hair on head not so much LOL.

Jackman's stay in his hometown of Sydney is not purely for play as he will begin filming X-Men Origins sequel The Wolverine at Fox Studios, next week.

And Jessica Biel says not so fast:

Jessica Biel says her role as Viper in 'Wolverine' film isn't a done deal: Watch

'TOTAL RECALL' ACTRESS TELLS FANS TO HOLD THEIR HORSES

SAN DIEGO -- Just when it seemed like it was official, Jessica Biel say fans should hold their horses about her potential role as Viper in the forthcoming "Wolverine" movie.

"People keep talking about this," a shocked Biel explained to HitFix during our interview at Comic-Con. On Friday (July 14), News had spread like wildfire at Con that the "Total Recall" actress had signed on the bottom line for Viper. "I don't know anything about it. It's a little bit too soon for that kind of an announcement. I'm excited about this series..."

But it's not a done deal.

"I love wolverine, Hugh Jackman is so cool... people are surprising me about it all the time," she said about fans' reaction to the false start. "When you see that people acturally really think that could be an amazing character... when other people are excited about things."

Check out what else Biel has to say about selecting her characters and projects.

Yeah just watched that vid on hitfix. She seems really excited about it though. Hopefully an indication she has the role just cant say anything yet.

This Is probally a case where she Is cast but she has been told not to say anything yet
during her total recall promation.

I actually wouldn't mind Viper showing up in other X-related films.

I wouldn't call him "thin" in Les Miz... at all.

I hope Hugh Jackman has time to get buff up for this.

He went thin and lost weight for les miserables. And les miserables filming finish recently, so I'm not sure if Hugh has time to hit the gym.

He didn't go that thin. He was doing some working out during the time he was doing Les Miserables. The look he had for Les Mis was down to wardrobe and hair/make-up as much as anything.

In any event, do you really believe actors get their super-buff bodies in such a short time just by working out?! The only way to get massive is roids... Anyone who tells you anything different is lying.

The casting for this is good, they have surprisingly went authentic with the Japanese casting, and Biel is underrated IMO.

I had a look round online at fan response to the casting and it was surprisingly mixed, and some of it very negative.

I didn't understand one comment I read that said "Testosterone is not a toy, Jessica." What's that supposed to mean? She doesn't look like a bodybuilder.

The article says there are 3 characters in the Marvel universe called Viper, interesting.

Two of them are/were men, so I think we know which one Biel is up for... Unless of course, the above comment is true and she is hitting the roids lol

X-Maniac, don't pay attention to that. The fan response to anything not associated with the MCU is negative. No matter what it is.

The comments on Superhero Hype are the worst.evenwith Kevin feige being credited as executive producer on the Amazing Spider-Man(first credit since 2007 on a non marvel
studios film) they still just bash and bash. The comments are always marvel studios great. All non marvel studios terrable.

Yep, and its just beyond annoying.

Yep.And most of time i just Ignore them.

We have mostly japanaese cast for japanese roles with exception of Korean born Will Yun Lee.That Is quite good.Jessica Biel adds a bit more star power to film.Hugh Jackman
can't go on all the rounds of promation for film himself.Any problems with Blade Trinity were more It was bad Idea to give David Goyer complete control of film.He needs a director to balance his Ideas.Jessica did fine. And proved she could do action.Jessica adds sex appeal to guys.Something that was missing from Origins.

If we can get a hard Pg-13 like Nolan did with Dark Knight this should be fine.If they do a seperate R rated cut It would only be on Blu-Ray.And there are still plenty who buy DVDS and don't have blu-Rays.You will never find another Director cut or expanded version on DVD Inless they prove me wrong.

Great casting, Biel will look good in green.

I always thought Polaris is gonna be first character in the X-Men movie series that will feature a green hair. But lets see if Viper is gonna have green hair in this movie.

I hope Hugh Jackman has time to get buff up for this.

He went thin and lost weight for les miserables. And les miserables filming finish recently, so I'm not sure if Hugh has time to hit the gym.

He didn't, really. Jean Valjean is actually incredibly strong (spending 19 years doing hard labor will do that to you). In Les Mis, he lifts a cart off of a trapped man and later carries another character through the Paris sewers.

Before the movie started filming Hugh said in an interview that Tom Hooper wanted him to be thin, but still be built, since Valjean needs to be strong.

There is something that bothers me quite a bit. Maybe one of you can enlighten me.

Both "Man of Steel" and "Iron Man 3" have major appearances at Comic Con right now.

They both come out next summer ! "The Wolverine" also comes out next summer.

Here is my gripe: While MoS already wrapped shooting and showed plenty of footage at Comic Con and Iron Man 3 beeing a good step INTO shooting, probably also having some footage at Comic Con...

...The Wolverine hasent even started filming yet ! Not a frame has been shot yet. FOX and Mangold really have to perform an uber-fast turnarround to get The Wolverine ready for July 2013. I have a fear that its gonna be rushed.

Do you even think they re gonna make it in time??

I think they'll be fine. First Class was released on June 1, 2011 (in the UK) and didn't start filming until August 31, 2010.

Heres's a few shots of Hugh working out in the gym.

Ready to fight the enemy: Muscle man Hugh Jackman strips off to reveal six pack ahead of new X-Men film

Strapping star Hugh Jackson showed off his famously muscular physique today on Bondi Beach in his native Australia.

In a sight that surely left women swooning, and men envious, the X Men actor stripped off for a swim in the sea, revealing his rock solid set of abs.

The toned 6ft 2inch performer enjoyed the warm weather and showed off his athletic prowess.

Proving age is just a number, the 43-year-old didn't appear to have an inch of fat.

Jackman returned to the land Down Under with his family, after wrapping filming on the Hollywood adaptation of the Broadway play Les Misérables.

Although it's clear he didn't skimp on his workouts while shooting his part as Jean Valjean.

Jackman's stay in his hometown of Sydney is not purely for play as he will begin filming X-Men sequel The Wolverine at Fox Studios within a matter days.

According to reports, Hugh's list of requests, a private gym has been set up for him on set and a temporary home has been found for his family in Woollahra.
Local media also estimate the movie will provide an $80million boost to the Australian economy.

Just last week it was revealed that Jessica Biel will join Jackman in the cast.
Biel will play Viper in the sixth installment of the series of films.

According to Marvel’s website, Viper originates from a war-torn Eastern European country and is involved in several parts of Wolverine’s story.

In the comics, Viper is a frequent enemy to the X-Men and makes several attempts to set up a double agent in The Avengers.

The film will be directed by James Mangold, best-known for directing the 2005 film Walk The Line.

The action flick, which is scheduled for release is the summer of 2013, is a direct sequel to the 2009 film X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
