News reporter and photographer shot and killed on live broadcast this morning

Just heard about it . So sad and heartbreaking. My prayers go out to the families of the two victims.

My condolences to their friends and family, truly an unfortunate thing to happen.

Horrific. My heart goes out to their family and friends.

Yea it's incredby sad. These shooting rampages have to stop..

Thoughts and prayers to the families.

This is Western Virginia, near Roanoke. Is this a bad area?

Update: According to WTOP, Governor McAuliffe said authorities are pursuing the suspect on I-64 and an arrest is imminent.

Saw the video. Thoughts and prayers go to the families. R.I.P :(

Can't bring myself to watch the video.

Hope they catch the ****er.

**** I wish I'd known not to watch that before I watched it. How awful.

When will this country admit it has a goddamned problem. We've got people being blown away on live television like this is a ****ing war zone, but the argument is just going to become "if we arm reporters and cameramen they'll be able to fight back next time." We have a severe gun problem in this country and it's feeling more and more like we're getting a mass shooting per day. It's disgusting.

I don't have a stance on the gun issue but I do think everyone being armed, could be a valid argument. Either way though, I'm shocked at this news. This could change how news reporters do their jobs forever.

What was the killers motivation in this? They were just innocently reporting someone then he suddenly shows up and shoots them both point blank, why would he do that?! i honestly cant understand the mindset of people who commit atrocities like this.

It was a disgruntled employee who apparently wanted both of them dead for being racist.

There are two videos. He taped his own perspective through a GoPro camera as well.

One of the saddest parts is that both the photographer and anchor were both dating someone at the station. Adam the photographer's girlfriend/ fiancé had to watch the shooting video in the control room at the station... Another sad fact is that here in the U.S nothing is going to be done about gun control or mental health. Everyone is just going to move on from this story in a few days/ weeks until the next shooting happens. Rinse and repeat... Absolutely disgusting. My thoughts and prayers go out to the victims families and friends.

Apparently the killer (who had been fired from the station) is live tweeting while on the run...he tweeted that the cameraman had reported him to HR and got him fired and that he had been replaced by the woman reporter.

I don't own a gun.

But gun violence has dropped to levels not seen since the 1960s.

We just have the internet now that gives us instant, in your face access 24/7.

As a black man who has a bachelor's degree in mass communications broadcasting. I know the frustration of being screwed over at news stations. I too did not get a job at a at a local news station because I was black and the hiring manager apparently had the hots for some blonde girl who DID NOT have half the experience I had. Yea I was mad but I never would kill someone over something like that. I would go through the proper channels and file a complaint. Even if he felt they were racist or whatever, it doesn't excuse him killing them. This guy is just a evil sucmbag and I hope it gets wants coming to him.

By the way, the video is easy to find (I stumbled across it on Facebook this morning before I logged on here and read this thread), but please, do not post it here.

Fired for what?

He doesn't say in the tweet...and I haven't heard anyone else on the news give a reason for his firing...but if you take today's events into account, I would say he was fired for anger issues.

I just saw the video from his point of view. Crazy.

What a horrible man. I hope they catch him soon. This is just sickening.
