Next Big Cosmic Event:The Thanos Imperative

Ok... I'll make some guesses.

Her?

Who was that chick in Infinity Crusade? I'll guess her as well.

:thing: :doom: :thing:

The Goddess. Could be, given that the Magus is involved and she's the Magus' opposite.

But...didn't "Lord Mar-Vell" kill the Magus? Splattered him good in IGNITION I believe (which may as well have been THANOS IMPERATIVE #0.

Anyway, that is an awesome Cosmic Team pic. They could take on anyone. :)

Oh, maybe. I don't remember. It feels like The Thanos Imperative is coming out really slowly, but I think that's because I'm used to two cosmic series every month with Nova and GotG. :o

Indeed. The last few space events had a core mini, two ongoing titles and usually at least 1-3 mini's going on alongside it. THANOS IMPERATIVE, in contrast, is simply one mini series (that probably isn't always out every 4 weeks on the dot). So that'll explain it.

Ironically, only $3.99 series is actually cheaper than two $2.99 ongoings and 1-3 $3.99 mini's. So while we may have that NOVA and GOTG are "on hiatus", in the short term it is more merciful on the wallet than, say, WAR OF KINGS was. Of course, WAR OF KINGS sold better.

When does Chaos War start? That kind of counts as another cosmic series. It'd be nice if some of it ran concurrently with The Thanos Imperative (even though it would give the Silver Surfer "Wolverine syndrome").

I must have missed it, Chaos War?

Well, that's interesting. Although not liking the addition of the Hulks. Please tell me the kill Hiro-Kala before they get to this mini.

Hiro-Kala's going to be involved. I don't really know anything about him, but I recall hearing Galactus jobbed to him at some point, so I'm a bit wary...

Ugh. His will be the only issues I don't read when I buy Realm of Kings trades next week. Did not like his stories at all.

Issue three feels like it's gonna be so epic there's no way I'm not gonna be let down by it somehow. *sigh*

Sepulveda's ugly-ass Silver Surfer is my current letdown. Everything else looks great so far. I kind of wish they'd swapped Cancerverse Quasar and normal Quasar's costumes, though. The armored look on the former looks really cool, whereas the latter's just looks like a grimdark version of his classic costume.

I don't mind how Surfer looks, but then again I was never a fan of the Surfer. At this point I could easily claim to liking Ronan and probably Gladiator more.

Still, though...Nova, Quasar, Silver Surfer, Beta Ray Bill, Ronan, and Gladiator...Team Cosmic is fully assembled!

Quite a few. I mentioned somewhere that technically, usually whenever Gladiator or Ronan the Accuser have come to Earth, they've been hostiles. So if they ever did return to Earth again, that should probably trigger some high priority Avengers or Fan Four alert, even if their intentions are noble. Hell, Kallark once tore up Manhattan pretty decently in the Bryne era.

Actually, one of the few minor continuity subplots that neither Keith Giffen nor "DnA" tangled with is that technically, another Star-Lord was selected after Peter Quill went MIA for a time, and he was apparently searching for the original. While Quill has since resurfaced and has become known as the (former) Star-Lord, that new kid's apparently fallen into the Fault. Not complaining, mind you, but given how much fun GOTG usually is, it could have made for a cute subplot or bit of dialogue to discuss.

I'd really like to know what's been up with Cammi. Last time we saw her was at the end of Annihilation with that little fairy.

Yeah, Drax seemed to have abandoned her since being reunited with his "real" daughter, Moondragon. He's a terrible father figure. :o

It would be nice to see Skreet again. She was always annoying Thanos and saying the funniest s***.:woot:

She's annoying as hell. He did well, I would have smothered her with a pillow.

Eh, no one liked her anyway. :oldrazz:

God, the ideas DnA are putting forth in this crossover are so epic while still making perfect sense. I love it. Life spirals out of control in the Cancerverse, so those with an artificial semblance of life are the only ones not affected. Patently absurd, but it fits a kind of sci fi logic. Plus, it's always good to see the Vision (even if he is just a filthy alternate universe version ;)).

I didn't find her too annoying, personally. Skreet was much more obnoxious as a sidekick to Thanos. But once Drax joined the Guardians, the need for a POV sidekick went away, so it was a good idea to get rid of her rather than just have her sitting around Knowhere (and probably driving Cosmo and Mantis crazy).
