Next Big Cosmic Event:The Thanos Imperative

I am surprised Flag hasn't really confronted Victory on the whole shield thing. Then again, he hates this cosmic stuff and probably doesn't want to be bothered enough to ask about it.

Not that I blame him, sometimes.

One of my favorite Rocket lines was when he said that "Sometimes I know just how Jack feels." :funny:

Yeah, Jack Flag helps to serve that "everyman" role in the GOTG as the guy who doesn't like space stuff (yet has found himself on a space team) and doesn't get a lot of it. And this is a lot considering Jack Flag is a vigilante empowered by a freak chemical bath who started out trying to fight the Serpent Society with hair that always reminds me of a Rainbow Snowcone. Flag literally used to carry around a boom box that shot bolas out as a weapon. :awesome:

When things get too weird for the tactical supergenius talking racoon, ****'s gotten too damn weird.

...On a tangental note, my favorite thing about RR is that he's avowedly a tactical genius whose tactic, in like 99% of circumstances, is "shoot it with a huge ****ing gun".

And most of the time, he's right!

As long as Nova and Gladiator make it out of this alive, I'm good

And also, is that Quasar evil or good?

It looks like he's wearing his costume from Annihilation, so I'm gonna guess that the evil Quasar is somehow separated or suppressed by the good Quasar before The Thanos Imperative #2.

Thanos is back! On one side you have the Marvel Universe’s #1 threat! On the other: a dark new force determined to obliterate everyone! In the middle are the outnumbered and battle-hardened heroes that stand between us and complete decimation! A war has ignited which will combine the galaxy’s most dedicated warriors with a collection of heroes that you never saw coming! It’s a battle that will span the cosmos, deliver major shocks, and will prove to you why IGN proclaims “Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning can seemingly do no wrong” and Aint It Cool News raves that Abnett and Lanning consistently deliver “terrific action, interesting character development, and some pretty good jokes all rolled into one amazing package.”

My lawd those pages are beautiful.

Why are the gems on the quantum bands so ginormous?

Gladiator looks freakin' amazing.

That's how evil Quasar's costume is, and good Quasar somehow wound up looking identical to evil Quasar after coming back from the Fault. I'm not a fan of the fact that the quantum bands don't actually look like the quantum bands anymore either, but what are you gonna do? It's not a big deal.

I, for one, will be boycotting this mini and every crossover featuring those quantum bands. :o

Okay not really.

Yeah another minor complaint, but I thought Thanos' pilgrimage outfit from Annihilation was a huge upgrade. Never cared for his traditional garb. He looks a lot more menacing without the headgear, especially on that cover with Drax.

I liked the robes too, but I love the classic look. He's much more Thanosy in it to me. :)

I'm sure someone, somewhere totally is.

The guy reviewing Nova #36 in cosmicbooknews.com seems to believe that #36 is likely the last Nova issue of the series....Any truth to that?

I believe it was announced Nova and GotG was announced to be going on hiatus for the duration of the Thanos Imperative, but it wasn't said if the 2 series will just pick back up or get relaunched.

That's...Bad. Marvel just stopped me buying its two best books right there. And now with Loeb coming abroad....Brrr....

That's a very good question. How does he come into play?

Going to need something announced, not some banter in a thread on another forum.

It does seem suspect. Either way, my standing policy is if Loeb's writing it, I will not be buying it. That goes for the cosmic line as well, unfortunately.

Yeah, I would not read Loeb Space Comics. Or Loeb comics of any kind, unless he switched his quality dial back from "SUCK" to "MEDIOCRE", at least. But it is a rumor at this point.

Thanos' default costume does look pretty ridiculous, but we'll see how it is colored and drawn. It is the outfit people know, so I am not surprised it is making a return. All the old outfits come back eventually. Obviously, THE THANOS IMPERATIVE is meant to bring in a lot of readers to the space line, which means some familiarity.

Yeah, it's a no-brainer for me. Comparison:

One looks like a badarse and one has the gravitas of a circus performer. I always thought Perez did the best job of traditional attire Thanos. The gear tends to be fattening with other artists
