Kyle Chandler to Star in HBO’s ‘Lanterns’ Series
The 'Friday Night Lights' Emmy winner is set to play Hal Jordan in the DC adaptation.

That's a good call. I like it.Seeing as how we have a more mature Hal, I’m hoping for a more mature Carol Ferris.
Maybe Jennifer Aniston.
Carla Gugino IMHO.Seeing as how we have a more mature Hal, I’m hoping for a more mature Carol Ferris.

James Wolk is waiting in the wings. If this new universe is successful it could lead to a prequel series with someone cast as young Hal.
You'll change your tune if John is yummylicious.Do I want Hal to be that old? No.
Do I TOTALLY MIND IT and HATE IT? No.
So its a good casting choice actor wise...age wise....meh

Ah James Wolk. Pretty enough for TV and cable, but not pretty enough for movies.James Wolk is waiting in the wings.

Nice upgrade from Brolin for you.I just re-read Tom King's Hal-focused Darkseid War issue, where Hal's reminiscing about a talk he had with one of his Dad's friends shortly after he was killed, and based on that memory, Hal ultimately chooses to give up the power of a God, because "we get to choose, and Gods just get to watch," and picturing Friday Night Lights Kyle Chandler in particular in that issue is incredibly easy. Like, I think he fits King's vision of that character like a glove. Hal's definitely not my favorite Lantern in comics, but however long he will be with us, he will be impossible for me to hate with Chandler in the role. I cannot overstate how much I adore this pick!!!![]()
I’m just hoping that when Kyle is introduced that he is written the way that King wrote him in Omega Men. I loved Kyle in that story.I just re-read Tom King's Hal-focused Darkseid War issue, where Hal's reminiscing about a talk he had with one of his Dad's friends shortly after he was killed, and based on that memory, Hal ultimately chooses to give up the power of a God, because "we get to choose, and Gods just get to watch," and picturing Friday Night Lights Kyle Chandler in particular in that issue is incredibly easy. I am like 95% certain John, eventually Kyle, and maybe Jessica will be the main Lanterns of this universe. At the very least, it will be John. The ages of Hal and John and the plan for John to be the lead was one of the first things we heard about this project last year, and nothing we’ve heard since then has contradicted that. The writing’s been on the wall about that looong before this casting imo.Posted this in the other thread, I'll post it here too. I took this casting a bit hard, I will remain optimistic. I like that people who are aware of Kyle Chandler say it's a good casting choice for an older Hal. I guess I need to watch Friday Night Lights lol. I'm all for young Hal flashbacks and maybe getting a prequel series or movie. Maybe Hal's age lines up with Barry & Oliver and we could see them as young heroes together while the current timeline focuses on John/Kyle & Wally West or something.

I can see it for sure.they were aiming for the 45-60 age range.... Wolk is barely 40
but, if there is a prequel of his younger days, James Wolk and Kyle Chandler do look enough alike that he'd be a decent fit for it
Ooh…
