No Man's Sky

I went to my GameStop and asked, they said they got no such info about a delay. Not told to put coming soon on it.. Nothing GameStop stores would get the same packet.. Or the same info in one big email (or physical mail) at the same time. They would all be on the same page.

The guy who runs this store is a friend of mine.. He believes the "leak" was phony. They have received no packets, no emails and the system preorder was not pushed to TBA.. Which if it was delayed, it would have been.
Your friend is a liar!!!!!!!!!!!!!

just saw the new date of August 9.

Apparently, this was just posted on the PSN network. The delay was real, Gamestop was wrong, it was true, all of it. New date is August 9th.

Two month delay for the space exploration game.

No Man’s Sky
has been delayed from its previously planned June release date to August 9 in North America, August 10 in Europe, and August 12 in the United Kingdom, developer Hello Games announced. It will be available for PlayStation 4 and PC.
Find a message from Hello Games’ Sean Murray below.
Hello, Sean Murray from Hello Games here, working extremely hard on our game, No Man’s Sky.
The game really has come together, and it’s such an incredible relief. As we sit an play it now, and as I watch playtesters every day, I can finally let myself get excited. We’re actually doing this.
However, as we approached our final deadlines, we realized that some key moments needed extra polish to bring them up to our standards. I have had to make the tough choice to delay the game for a few weeks to allow us to deliver something special.
After a short delay, No Man’s Sky will launch in North America on August 9, in Europe August 10, and in the UK August 12.
We understand that this news is disappointing. Making this game is the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life, but we are so close now, and we’re prepared to make the tough choices to get it right.
The universe of No Man’s Sky is incredibly vast. More than you can imagine. This is a type of game that hasn’t been attempted before, by a smaller team than anyone would expect, under an intense amount of expectation.
And despite all of that, development is genuinely going well. This is the hardest working, most talented team I’ve ever worked with, and I’m so proud of what we’re doing. For all our sakes though, we get one shot to make this game and we can’t mess it up.
To the loyal community who’s stuck by our side since the unveiling of No Man’s Sky years ago, we hope you’ll accept our sincere apology and I am humbly asking that you’ll still look forward to exploring our universe despite the slight delay.
Thank you so much,
Sean

Nah, that was Destiny.
what happened with destiny was it had a bit of a disappointing start and there were elements that they screwed up with like an in game story. but they have recovered due to just the game play alone

of which they are very lucky and they have a sequel to do even better with too.

This video segment of the rundown belong here as welldue to what was said to day about deaththreats and now being charged for them. which is like what will happen to those fools that did this this past weekend. look like they will be hunted down and charged.

EP Daily Rundown for May 30, 2016
Happy Memorial Day to our friends down in the US! We’ve got a great edition of The Rundown to kick off your week, starting with the latest VR rumours about the Xbox One, some disappointing news about No Man’s Sky, a behind the scenes update on the final Maze Runner movie, some great news for fans of Fable, some rocking news about Doc Savage, and finally, yet another confirmation that Batman v Superman sucks.
It’s looking more and more likely that virtual reality is coming to the Xbox One. There have been rumours that Microsoft is working to bring VR to the console, and now the Entertainment Software Association, which runs the annual E3 gaming expo, may have outed the announcement prematurely. On the official E3 website, they’ve listed Virtual Reality for the Xbox One as a product category for four different game developers. This might just be a typo, although that seems unlikely. One of the developers listed is Rebellion, which is currently working on a Battlezone VR remake for the PlayStation VR and Oculus Rift. Given the new information on the E3 site, don’t be surprised if the game also finds its way to the Xbox One. The rumours claim that the Xbox One VR headset will be some variation of the Oculus Rift, which makes sense given that the PC version of the device is built to work with the Xbox One controller. The Rift might also work with the rumoured new versions of the Xbox One, which have been rumoured for months. If all of these rumours are true, expect Microsoft to make everything official during their E3 press conference on June 13.
Yep, we’re going to have to wait a little longer to play No Man’s Sky. The highly-anticipated space exploration game has been delayed. It was slated to hit the PC and PS4 in June, but will now land on August 9. Developer Hello Games says that they need the extra two months to give a little more polish to the game, so thankfully the wait won’t be that much longer. Some people are overreacting though. Designer Sean Murray says that he and the rest of the team have received numerous death threats following the delay. Receiving online death threats is obviously not cool, and people should remember that it’s a serious crime to make them, even if you’re joking. Hopefully law enforcement will find those responsible. For everyone else, you can learn more about No Man’s Sky by watching our interview with Sean Murray on the screen or in the description below.
No Man’s Sky isn’t the only thing being pushed back. Twentieth Century Fox has officially delayed the final Maze Runner film The Death Cure by an entire year. It was originally scheduled to land in February 2017, but will now arrive in January 2018. The reason for the delay is pretty tragic: lead actor Dylan O’Brien was injured in an accident while filming earlier this year, and shooting has been postponed until he recovers. The good news is that, since the studio is confident enough to set a new release date, it means that they know O’Brien will be out of the hospital within a certain time frame; it was unclear just how serious his injuries were until now. Hopefully he’ll make a full recovery soon.

The Fable franchise is coming back from the dead in a new form. Earlier this year, Microsoft shocked the game industry by cancelling Fable Legends and closing franchise developer Lionhead Studios. Many fans were disappointed by the news, but the adventure isn’t over. Some former members of the Lionhead team have created their own company called Flaming Fowl Studios, and are continuing development on a card game called Fable Fortune, which was already in development at Lionhead before the studio closed. Microsoft has given them their blessing to continue with the project, but the developers need help. Since Microsoft is no longer funding development, the team is launching a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter to cover the remaining costs. That begins tomorrow. The first gameplay footage for Fable Fortune has been released through IGN. There’s a 3D art style with battle mechanics similar to the popular Warcraft card game Hearthstone, and it looks pretty cool. It’s too bad Microsoft isn’t floating the bill. If the funding is met, a beta test for the game will hit the PC and Xbox One this fall.
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is officially taking on his most savage role yet. Following rumours, The Rock has officially confirmed that he’ll play the heroic adventurer Doc Savage in the upcoming movie of the same name. Described as the world’s first super hero, Doc Savage is a scientist, adventurer, and explorer who appeared in countless pulp novels and radio serials in the 1930s and 40s, and served as the inspiration for a wide range of characters including Superman, Indiana Jones, and Tony Stark. The new movie is being directed and co-written by Iron Man 3 director Shane Black, who’s been developing the project for several years. Both The Rock and Shane Black say that they want to play up the more eccentric aspects of the character, and given Black’s ability to write clever and witty dialogue, expect the film to have plenty of humour.
Batman’s latest movie was so bad, even his loyal butler Alfred has disowned him. Speaking with British tabloid The Daily Mail, Batman v Superman actor Jeremy Irons, who played Alfred Pennyworth, admits that the film deserved the critical panning it received, adding that the story was very muddled and overstuffed with too many ideas, characters, and subplots. Most people, including yours truly, have had similar problems with the movie, and it was so poorly received that Warner Bros did a massive reshuffling of its DC film team in the weeks after its release. There’s still a glimmer of hope though. Jeremy Irons says that the next DC film he’s in will be much more streamlined and linear. That sounds like a good start, but hopefully the portrayal of the characters will be more accurate as well.

I will never, for the life of me, understand why people are legally allowed to own freaking words.
Is it that hard to understand? How many movies would be named Star Wars if Lucas wasn't allowed to copyright the name? How many Batmans would there be?

Is it that hard to understand? How many movies would be named Star Wars if Lucas wasn't allowed to copyright the name? How many Batmans would there be?

Star Wars is two words, and Batman is a name, sky on the other hand is an everyday word used all the time.

Yeah, but it's not like the game was titled Sky, or Sky TV. Absolute d*** move on the companies part to throw a fit.
You have to protect your copyright. Otherwise it will be used against you.

Its a trademark not a copyright and almost all companies get one before going public. Its foolish not to for obvious reasons. A videogame is unrelated to their business, which is likely why this was dismissed

I know old, but the name controversy just gave me flashbacks to MS's SkyDrive having to be renamed to OneDrive because of copyright.
