I never get sick of Wanda gifs.

As much as I love the trench coat costume she had in CW, I wish the pants had been different and less like leggings.

Of all the Hasbro Marvel Legends figures that were on display at New York Toy Fair 2016 in February, the one that I was most instantly infatuated with was the Marvel Legends Civil War Scarlet Witch figure. And evidently, I wasn’t the only one–Scarlet Witch is selling for $50+ on the aftermarket already, making this one-per-case figure the most difficult Marvel Legends 6″ figure of the year to acquire.

Overall: The Captain America Civil War Scarlet Witch Marvel Legends 6″ figure is easily the best non-Hot Toys Scarlet Witch toy ever made. The all-new sculpt is covered in fine details, the articulation is close to perfect, and the likeness is better than usual. I think there’s a bit too much blush on Wanda’s face and I’m surprisingly unhappy with the look of the magic effects pieces, but there’s no doubt that this is a lovely and well-made figure.

GRADE: A-

Imagine...

Helen Mirren as
Agatha Harkness

That would be so perfect.

It may be a geekier detail to get hung up on, but*Doctor Strange*will also need to balance its use of magic against a character we've already seen using the mystic arts: The Avengers' Scarlet Witch. Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) got her powers through Baron Strucker's experiments - and really they've never been concretely defined - but to fans who saw*Olsen onscreen doing funny hand motions with bright light effects, the comparisons to*Doctor Strange*will be inevitable.*
Comicbook.com was on the set of*Doctor Strange, and we spoke to Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige about how Strange and Scarlet Witch relate in terms of their use of magic. But according to Feige, there isn't much comparison at all, since*Doctor Strange*was being conceptualized as Scarlet Witch's powers in*Age of Ultron*were being completed in post-production. That's the behind-the-scenes explanation, but as always, Feige has a way to rationalize things within MCU continuity:*

"Her powers, she's never had any training, I'm talking about Scarlet Witch. She never had any training; she's figuring it out. Arguably, you could say that that's why her powers are much more chaotic and much more loose in the way that we showcased those light effects. *In [Doctor Strange], some of what you might see today, even the cover of Entertainment Weekly, it's much tighter. It's all about focus. It's all about pulling energies from other dimensions in an organized and purposeful fashion, which is why they can do a lot more than she can in, at least, a much more precise way."
While Feige's explanation is suitable (for now), Marvel Comics fans know that Scarlet Witch and Doctor Strange have a history of crossing paths, with mystical ramifications that affect the entire Marvel Universe. For really savvy Marvel fans, Scarlet Witch non-mastery of her powers are the sort of dangling thread that can go from being a convenient continuity fix, to the centerpiece of a major MCU crossover event that could, say, explain how the X-Men find their way into the MCU. *

Strange is unaware of her magic, and has a long history of being wrong when it comes to Wanda (the biggest tragedy of her life can be heavily blamed on Strange's arrogance). I don't see him meeting her until after she begins fully using her powers in Infinity War.

Agatha Harkness or Chthon are the ones who should train her.

I am going to love it when Wanda and Strange share scenes together. I also want Wanda to have scenes with Loki.

Agents of SHIELD has introduced the Darkhold, the book of Chthon, so we will get Chthon in the MCU.

An article says that MCU Scarlet Witch is magical:

The key point, for me, is this: Scarlet Witch's powers are no longer simply 'scientific' in nature. Whatever the Mind Gem did to Wanda, it somehow unlocked the mystical potential within her; it gave her an innate link to the fabric of reality, enabling her to pull power and energy from other dimensions and wield it in our own. It's great news, because we're moving to a Scarlet Witch far more closely aligned to the one comic book fans know and love.
All this sets up some potentially tremendous arcs for Scarlet Witch. In press screenings for Civil War, Joe Russo suggested that we'd see Wanda step up to her powers in Avengers: Infinity War. Tantalizingly, Benedict Cumberbatch recently suggested there's a "logistical challenge of aligning his schedule with... Elizabeth Olsen". He was clearly referring to Infinity War (he also named a host of other characters), so it looks as though Doctor Strange and Scarlet Witch are destined to interact. Is it possible Scarlet Witch will eventually train under Doctor Strange, as she did in the comics?

I'd love for Scarlet Witch to be the surprise cameo in Doctor Strange. Like she hears about all he's done and goes to see if she can learn more about control since she's in hiding.

But Strange lives in New York, Wanda cannot risk going there, and Wanda's Chaos Magic is imperceptible and baffling to Strange and the Kamar-Taj.

The more likely candidate is Mordo.

Maybe they meet somewhere other than NYC? Wouldn't it be very easy for him to travel to wherever she is hiding after knowing there's interest?
