No X-4

Don't be too negative. I think they're aware of the fan's feelings toward the subject... and keep in mind those alternate endings...

They say that the cast is too big and expensive but why couldn't they persuade the big stars to drop their asking price? The cast of the Ocean films do that so i don't see why it couldn't happen with the X-cast.

Because the Ocean's cast don't each have mutant powers that cause an expensive special effects budget. They barely have action sequences.

And thing is...the X-Men cast weren't paid a lot for the first two. They were mostly unknowns and the comic book movie genre wasn't big. But now that the first two are a big success, they're going to want a bigger cut. That's just how that works.

Disney did the same thing--they paid a fortune to get the 3 main cast back. Orlando and Keira both wanted bigger roles. I don't know why anyone would think Halle Berry is the only actress in history to want a bigger role in a sequel.

Fox should have signed everyone on for 3 movies from the start, and let them have a complete trilogy...instead they had the 2 movies, and the only way to do a 3rd from there was to pay through the roof for it.

It sucks, but considering what happened with Superman this summer, I don't think anyone at Fox thinks they made a bad business move.

They had to consider that eventually the general public was going to burn out on X-Men sequels...so rather than spend even more to continue the current series, make smaller spinoffs that won't cost as much and will probably profit more.

I don't know why everyone is so surprised, they'd been saying it was the last movie for months now. It's open for more, and I wouldn't be surprised at all if they pick it up again somewhere down the road...but I wasn't expecting an X4 anytime soon.

If FOX cared things would have been different this time & they would have worked around his time for being available. As long as the 2 Wolverine ****es are at FOX or they are part of an X-Men Team Movie. Im not having any faith in Cyclops ever coming back

Who are the two Wolverine ****es? I know Ratner is one of them but who is the other?

I liked what happened with him, really. Sure, he deserved more screen time - but it was suitable for him to be dead in Jean's mind. I have faith he isn't really "dead." But he was very important to the story... why? Did you see Wolverine having psychic dreams about Jean? No... It was obvious that Scott was the only love of Jean's... his "death" is what drove her to the (WARNING! cliche) darkside. Much like in the comics, where, within an illusion, he did die. I think he'll make an appearance in an alternate ending, however.

Ratner is the yes man he just did what he was told & with that he was able to do a few tweaks of his own here & there so I was not thinking of him The two FOX Wolverine ****es are

Tom Rothman & Lauren Shuler Donner. If fans want any faith at all with Cyclops ever returning then these two need to stay away from future TEAM movies & they can focus on their poster poy solo franchise letting other people handle the X-Men Team Movies. As long as these two are around or in control of TEAM X-Men Movies it will always be about Wolverine mainly

While we do not really know if its 100 % true one of the writers said that FOX did not want Scott in the Movie period & that is believeable

Not to me had FOX not been anti Cyclops thigns would have obviously turned out different. But hey its good that you have hope but for me if those two people continue to have any say in future TEAM X-Men Movies its going to be mainly about Wolverine as usual. They had two tries. Im not counting the first one as that was the first of its kind & more of a test type of thing. But they had 2 damn tries to do things alot better but continued to ignore the fans & they will do nothing but ignore the fans in the future.

I really do hope FOX just gives up the X-Men rights & they make some deal with Marvel for them to keep their poster boy

I don't see why the X-franchise can't go on without Hugh or Halle, but the whole studio exec mentality is based around star power. It's absurd, but until they realize the X-franchise is based around the X-Men as characters and it doesn't matter who the actors are or how much screen time the actors have, then the movies are going to be nothing more then studio produced popcorn flicks.

The rationale behind star power is the guarantee that a film will make money. Look at Michael Bay's ridiculously stupid remarks about the Island blaming Ewan McGregor for The Island flopping. And it wasn't a bad movie that was badly marketed? But no, Bay blames the lack of star power.

The thing that the X-Franchise has going for it that studios now are in a realy quandry since the box office is still in a slump and there have been a lot of high profile flops. Studios like to go back to what's worked in the past, since it's easier to get investors to back the project. And if they can prove to the investors that the actors aren't the reason for X-Men's success, the characters are.

Oh, Rothman and Donner. Well you can see Ratner is a Wolverine ****e when you see that pic of him as Wolverine next to Wolverine and the rest of the X-Men.

And Singer is not a Wolverine ****e. If anything he was Cyclops ****e.

If the investers see how pissed the fans are FOX will not be able to proove its about the characters :o

Let's face it... Wolverine is the most popular character among comic fans, cartoon fans and movie fans alike. He will always be the center of it all; he brings in the money. Not to mention you can do more with him... His healing factor has allowed for him to do unthinkable things, such as facing Phoenix (Which, to me, still seemed outside of even his boundaries). His adamantium skeleton gives Magneto a toy to play with (What if Cyclops was in the forest scene? He wouldn't be able to be thrown out...). So many unfortunate factors make Wolverine the lead.

Will they? After Fox earned them so much cash!

In terms of the "Movie" Wolverine I think alot of it has to do with the casting choice. Its not the character that is popular to non comic book fans its Hugh Jackman & like Johnny Depp & Orlando Bloon he has a huge fan base. Movie wise it seems for Wolverine its the actor at least in terms of people who dont read comic books

that could never happen. But it's not like Rothman is gonna be the head of Fox forever.

I would think that would depend on the success of the Wolverine Solo
