The Dark Knight Nolan needs more imagination.

I just get frustrated when I think about these comics coming to life and how cool they'll be and then all you hear is, well we are not doing this because we think it's stupid, well then don't do it and give it to someone who cares.

I want to see these characters, not someone else's thoughts on them. Can anyone just make a faithful film and forget realism. Even Batman has a fantasy element to it.

Don't sit there and use the Shumacher excuse, just don't make it campy. If you have the right idea and the right path, just about anything can be done right and cool.

Look at how seriously Freeze was done in TAS. Sure that's animated but I could see that on the big screen, that was a great way to do Mr.Freeze.

I don't want camp, but don't freak out 'cause of what someone else did.

Just do it right. I'd love to see the Riddler and Robin in a new movie, it can be done. Heck I'd be happy even if they went straight to Nightwing, ok maybe not right to him, but I'd like to see an evolution of Robin into Nightwing, and just having villians that aren't constantly taking off their masks and stuff, just have them be the way they are.

Even though Scarecrow's just starting out I don't know if he'll be back and he could've left his mask on more, I know they showed him all decked out at the end but not for long, and if he does come back I hope he looks more like the Scarecrow.

I don't see why making each character look like their comic book illustrations is a measure of imagination.

Is forcing Crane to wear a burlap sack on his head through the movie even viable? He's a pyschologist in Arkham Asylum, and infact he is not even 'Scarecrow' until Batman makes him eat his own fear gas. So please tell me how Cillian Murphy wearing a potatoe sack on his head while talking to Falcone/Dawes/evil League of shadow henchmen is not going to look totally random.

also, after he get's fear gassed by Batman and goes crazy in the narrows, is he suddenley going to think, hey you know what would make me look totally awesome? Some straw and a big-ass hat! wht Nolan did and will continue to do is use logic from one frame to the next, so nothing is arbitary or redundant, but has a purpose.

If you want fins on yer batmobile etc, just go watch Batman 89/Returns, or better yet just open a damn comic book.

Oh, and Crane is a narrcisist/egomanic during much of Begins. A full on costume serves no purpose. He only embraces his pychosis when he get's fear gassed.

BEGINS had a fantasy element. If you didn't notice it, you weren't paying attention, because there was a six-foot muscle guy dressed like a giant bat. Oh and some evil fruitcake running around with a gunny sack on his melon. You want fantasy? It was THERE!

If you don't want "someone else's thoughts" on your comic book characters, I have a piece of advice for you: STOP WATCHING MOVIES. Adaptations are, by default, shot through the prism of the imagination of the person doing the adapting.

Which begs the question, which version is the TRUE interpretation of Batman? Bob Kane's 1939 "Case of the Chemical Syndicate" Batman? If so, you must HATE every comic book published between 1940-2007, because as different as they all are, none of them match Bob Kane's original Batman. Or is Frank Miller's version okay? And if so, what arbitrary system have you used to determine that Miller's version is more valid than Nolan's? Is it because Miller's uses sequential art and Nolan's is committed to celluloid?

Are you biased against film, or are you just a troll?

I especially loved the music after he said it. The way it swells up as he jumps off the building. Man, Zimmer and Howard are awesome.

He's saying Nolan's approach to Batman Begins was a freak-out knee-jerk reaction to Schumacher.

Well then isn't it true that Burton's goth nightmare was a freak-out knee-jerk reaction to Adam West? Because Burton's movie was just as much a personal re-envisioning of Batman as Nolan's was.

The difference is, Burton's was more visually stylized. Like a comic book. While Nolan's is more like Batman in the real world.

Isn't it possible that Nolan's vision isn't a freak-out reaction to Schumacher?

Isn't it possible that Nolan just wanted to put Batman in a more real-world setting? Given the fact that Batman is a more realistic superhero to begin with?

And how is that worse than what Burton did?

If it were up to any of you getting on Nolan, we would never have gotten Batman Year One or The Dark Knight Returns because it's "not the character".
