Since this is the last Batman film directed by Nolan, it wouldn't be a bad idea for him to recap the entire trilogy in the end credits à la comic book style. I he doesn't do this, but there's a first time for everything, right?

I could imagine 2 different ways to do this:

1) Comic art style Batman drawings (I.E Jim Lee's Batman art, Alex Ross's, etc...) This would connect the audience with the source material, reminding the general audience that Batman was born in the comics

2) Comic art style drawings inspired by the movie design (Art style that would resemble graphic novels' movie adaptions) This would just be more logical.

I suggest doing this at the end so it won't interrupt the flow of the movie (although I wouldn't mind it in the beginning) and so people won't be forced to watch it if they don't want to. But if it's done well, who wouldn't?

So would anybody else be down for this?

Nah, thats one thing I love about Nolans Bat films, the clean and simple credits. They are not superheromovies, they are films, and the credits take it seriously.

Yeah I have to agree with this.

I was thinking instead of using the same end credits music, maybe use something a bit slower. Like the training music from begins

Yep. People were surprised when they saw TDK by how it little felt like a comic book movie, more like an engrossing crime saga.

Adding cartoon credits would kill the effect.

Nah, keep it simple. Cut to black - 'THE DARK KNIGHT RISES', cue credits.

Sounds better for kickass 2.

I prefer the simple credits Nolan always does. Like others have said, it feels more like a film than a comic book movie. I like your idea, but I believe it would work better as a special feature, rather than being in the movie itself.

Begins already used that.

But to start it at that music. If anyone was ever into the show LOST and saw the series finale, thats kind of how I was hoping TDKR would go. Something very emotional

Ah, I see what you mean. However, I think they may ultimately end it with music of a triumphant and epic nature, to support the probable final triumphant moment Bruce/Batman will achieve.

I wonder if Hans will give Batman his fully formed theme. He mentioned that the score for Rises will be "Epic and Iconic" so it makes sense for the Dark Knight to get his theme as he Rises.

Yup. No intro credits either. I love that Nolan does that.

Only some variant of the bat-symbol. And I'm very curious to see what it'll look like this time around.

I think it would be awsome if ended with a hint at the Joker being on the loose again or something to do with him, obviously wouldn't have to be him in person but just some sort of sign.

When it's all sad and done with this series, Heath Ledgers Joker will be the defnining character of this trilogy not to mention The Joker is Batmans greatest enemey it's only fitting.

man those little LOST references just SNEAK UP on you don't they? :( I'm watching the whole thing on DVD, on the third season right now and (needless to say) already connected to it on an emotional level. It's just...sublime, in it's brilliance.

But anyway, as for the idea here. It's a great idea, I'll give you that, but not something I'd want for Nolan's third movie. As others have said, let's keep things traditional. I agree that they are quite serious and though these films have been perhaps the truest to the source material, the point seems to be that Batman is now a full-fledged, cinematic FILM. Even the very fact that each installment stands alone is a testament to how these are films rather than direct-adaptations. Nolan refrains from using numbers for his sequels, perhaps to give the effect that these films stand alone? Anyway, bottom line, I'd want it to follow the same way it has in the previous films.

I like the idea, perhaps this could work brilliantly in the opening of the next Batman movie, under a different director? An Incredible Hulk like summation of the origin story would give film-goers a reminder that "we're moving past the early-year stories that Chris Nolan has told" as well as give old-time fans a nod that "we're heading into a more comic-book based film this time folks". Dunno, that's just what I thought while reading this.

I prefer this kind of ending.

They did it in Spiderman 2 and I liked it, But I say leave Nolan's Batman the way it is.
Alex Ross, great artist.

I'd rather they keep the consistency with the credits.

It wouldn't fit with the established tone of this series, but I'd definitely love to see something like that eventually.

If only as a *****slap to all the "fans" who seem so embarrassed that Batman is, ya know, a comic book. :hrt:
