Discuss whether you think Nolan's Batman is one of the world's greatest fighters like Batman is in the comics.

Not sure if this thread is to troll or not. Maybe you're genuine but it seems like an easy way to get a bunch of people to just rip it to shreds, since most people don't like the fighting at all.

Ill answer though..

Yes, i do. I see it as Bruce learned everything you needed to know by the League of Shadows. And what we see in fight sequences is not even close to what he can actually do. Batman just chooses to use specific moves that are not only unorthodox, but it gets the job done when he's going after people who aren't as skilled as him. Don't show your full hand of cards, just give em' a taste.

Not a troll thread, I never have and never will have any interest in trolling. I ask because this version of batman certainly is not the world's greatest detective like comic batman, and I think it's debatable if he is the world's 1 or 2 best fighters.

He practically ran through everyone until Bane and that was because he was clearly out of his prime both mentally and physically.

He was a damn good strategist too, remember the Arkham infiltration and escape in BB or the Prewitt building scene from TDK?

Yeah, Bale-Bats did pretty darn good for himself.

This post would be ridiculed, if not deleted in the BvS forum. :hehe:

Ra's gave him a good run for his money on the train, but yes other than that he rolled through everyone.

Cool man.

I think he's a damn good detective but not exaggerated like the comics where he's the world's greatest AND he can build everything himself practically, and be the best ninja and scientist and everything in sight. I think that's fine, that he's the best at every level. But since he's human i always welcome as much humanity as possible and that includes toning down those elements, even if it means he's not the Sherlock Holmes and Bruce Lee of the world at the same time. As long as he's a master ninja (which is implied but not shown so much, but that doesn't mean it's not there) as well as an intelligent man who can build ****, outsmarting most. Like the sonar.

I forgot the Hong Kong sequence, lol.

But it's true. Sad really. Total downer that sub-forum is.
Yeah it's bad over there lol.

Agreed.

When he returns to confront Bane again, Nolan gives a hint that Batman has to fight more intelligently second time as Batman was still not in a position to defeat Bane.

Interestingly, this "on location filming" scene also looks exciting to me !

Not everyone agrees but I really like the Keysi fighting style they went with. It had been invented as an amalgamation of several different styles so it made sense as something unique that Bruce could have came up with himself after having studied multiple methods (as he demonstrated in his first fight with Ducard). It also worked with fights involving several combatants, to the point that you can see shades of it in the Arkham games' choreography.

The fighting style was suited to tackling multiple opponents at a time.

BTW, I love Wally Pfister's's cinematography, I don't get the complaints about the lack of iconic shots in the trilogy, there were plenty, like the one in your avvy.

Soooo many great shots. Unfortunately that fantastic gif shot wasn't in Begins. Damn shame.

But, i also love the Keysi. Very unorthodox.

I stumbled upon that recently and was gonna post it, but figured Batlobster would roll his eyes at my "TDKR NEEDED TO BE LONGA!" schtick, lol.

Loved the fighting. Brutal, efficient, hint of flair with being elaborate or showy. Love the grunting and yelling during the Bane fights, too.

In the world we are presented , yes he is extremely skilled. Best in the world ? Maybe.

I really liked it in BB and TDK. In the TDKR the fights with Bane were good, but the fights with goons were kind of bad at times.
