Novelization excerpt Chapter 1 (SPOILER)

I'm sure this is going to appear in the movie just as a flasback/mention, but never as a scene... what it's sad.

Yeah, I bet that's how Xavier knows about young Jean...

he reads about the accident in a paper, or something.

Will this happen in the movie?

Well if the film is under 2hrs then I hope not b/c it will take up too much valuable time!

The scene won't be in the movie, but the accident could be casually mentioned (by Elaine Grey, Mr. Grey, etc...)

The words are not all that big. I can see children talking like that.
I can't. Annie seemed like an old woman on her death bed.

Is this movies 1hr 43 or 2hr 15? Just going to have to wait and see I guess..

okay

"I’m broken, Jean. There’s nothing I can do.”

“Stop it! Don’t you dare talk like that, I won’t let you go!”

riiiight lil kids will definatly say things like that before screaming and mumbeling and crying for help and running scared eh?

i can see if they were teenagers, but if they are little then no. not at all. im not sure of the age though...so who knows.

“I can barely see you. You’ve poured so much light into me, yours is almost gone. If you give me all your strength, how will you find your way home?”

no. lol

EDIT: i hope the scene is in the movie, will be a very um....hard hitting opening for sure, and id cry like a baby if it was done right, minus the shakesphere dialouge

I think they're 13.

meh still too young, thatd have to be at least 15-16 or above IMO!
yeah, I agree. I'd never expect 13 year old girls to be talking like that, especially in that situation.

Ummm....you seriouslyyy underestimate the intelligence of some kids these days. I used every single one of those words when I was 13 and knew what they meant.

eh, I thought it was pretty good. Yea the dialogue is a little off for kids. Oh well. Well constructed though.

I'm friends with 13 year olds and I was 13 not to long ago. They don't talk like that.

well your seriously underestimating the amount of 13 year olds who are really friggin stupid, lol. the stupid far outnumber the smart, if we had a world of 13 yr olds smart as that we'd live in a better world.

and its the what in that scene....70's? I think they said....... GROOVY!

Notice you've used the past tense in your sentence. I used those words too, but right now... it's a miracle if kids say a sentence of at least 10 words or a three syllabes word. :(

I'm around plenty of 13 year olds, they do know those words, they don't use them frequently, but they do know them, and are certainly capable of using them.

I think the reason it's so dialouge heavy is for the sheer fact that it's all very astral seeming and stuff. The scene would be weird if it was like..

''Oh my gawd! Jean! I'm like totally dying."

'I'll put you back together in like a total jiffy."

'Used those words', you mean. It's plural. Sorry, if we're talking about grammer... :D

I was typing so fast I didn't realized until it was posted, then I corrected it.

Oh, it's "grammar", not *grammer. :p

no, you just do without the lines such as that man. "oh my god" is cool for a 13 yr old to use, so more like

*while crying frantically because she just saw the sheer gore of a hit and run*" OH MY GOD ANNIE I DIDNT SEE HIM COMING.....I...I..." *holds hand *cries more* "HEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLPPP!!!!!" " PLEEEEASSSSSSSSE" *while holding hands......

then annie has to gasp for air saying as little as possible.....

ect ect...you get the idea...

I'd love to see them portray this scene in the Movie comic(if there is one).

To everyone who's worried about this being exactly like the movie, don't forget that Claremont sort of has a history of really bolstering stories up like this, so I really doubt it will actually be like this in the film.
