Of the 4 Spider-Man films made so far, what 2 are your favorite and why?

Of the two, Sandman was the villain to ditch. Harry had lead up as a villain for SM3. Sandman came out of nowhere, and now all of a sudden killed Uncle Ben? Weak. Harry was a far better villain/character. Peter vs Harry in the mansion, best scene in SM3. I can watch that scene by itself 100 times.

I think Sandman would have done well in his own film without other "main villains" and no Uncle Ben retcon.

Harry Osborn suffered the most out of this IMO, as he had two movies building up to his revenge story and it was just wasted.

Especially with a costume like that.
Its not even just the costume. Its how he his story turned to crap.

5 minutes into the movie and he transforms into "New Goblin." No explanation of how he enhanced the formula, how he learned to use the equipment, etc. He fights Peter and conveniently gets knocked out for the next hour or so to make room for Sandman.

Spider-Man 2
Spider-Man
Spider-Man 3
The Amazing Spider-Man (1977)
The Amazing Spider-Man (2012)

Yes I know it's 5 instead of 4, but still...

To place TASM below the 70s TV movie is really low lol. To each their own, that's all I have to say.

I actually like the TV movie, "Spider-Man: The Deadly Dust."

Oh, I love the whole series. Yes, it's kind of a guilty pleasure. Call it nostalgia or whatever but I love it.
It feels like the 70s police shows (e.g. Starsky & Hutch, Charlie's Angles, SWAT, I Spy, and TJ Hooker), except this one just happens to have Spider-Man in it.

I just wish they utilized some of the simpler villains from the comics for this show. Kingpin, Chamelion, Tinkerer, etc. don't require special effects, so IDK why they were never used. The clone saga was the only thing taken out of the comic books I believe.

Yeah. As a child, to me, that was like the actual real world with Spider-man in it.

This is the only TV series I own that I watch once a year. I was watching The Deadly Dust just yesterday, and every time I wish they had done more episodes, but also what you say, that they had included some comic characters that wouldn't have involved many special effects. But they were evidently going to separate themselves from the comic books, just like The Incredible Hulk series did. It was the times.

I really enjoy it for what it was, and that show was made long before I was born. The Spider-Man series is pretty entertaining IMO, and I wish there was at least a 3rd or 4th season. Why did it get cancelled?

I've read it was because CBS was not too proud of becoming the "superhero network." I understand the ratings were good. Oh, and Stan Lee himself had been vocal about how he didn't like it. Which is partially why I think they haven't released it on DVD.

I might be mistaken but didn't Stan Lee say that he liked the Japanese Spider-Man series?

Yeah, he said he loved it in fact. It's the Nicholas Hammond show that he was vocally unsupportive of. One word he used was 'unimaginative' where he compared it to the concurrently running show over in Japan which was the opposite.

I think the Japanese Spider-Man series was a little too imaginative. IDK, I thought the Nichoals Hammond series was pretty decent in its storytelling, at least for its time.

Spider-Man 2- 9
The Amazing Spider-Man-8.9
Spider-Man-8.5
Spider-Man 3-7.6

I have never watched the Amazing Spider-Man tv show. I know how to find it but I really want to watch it.

The first "episode" (or TV movie) is so/so, as they really butcher the origin story. Uncle Ben never dies for example.

Though the second two-part episode/TV movie, "The Deadly Dust," is actually pretty good. Its worth checking out.

For me it's...

Spider-Man
Spider-Man 2
Spider-Man 3
The Amazing Spider-Man

Yes. Well, he never existed to start with.

I specially like when Peter explains Joanna "Isis" Cameron what is it like to be Spider-man. Better than anything I've seen in the movies.

ASM is the only good one couldn't stand Tobey Maguire or Kirsten Dunst. Also hated how they felt the need to make EVERY villain sympathetic.

Yeah and just wait til we see the redemptive Sinister Six lol.

And isn't Electro basically sympathetic? lol
