Wow, you guys were satisfied with that finale? It was so anti-climatic, I was just waiting for something good to happen.

Ava's return was pointless. As nice as it was to see her again, the storyline they gave her did not warrant a return. There was a million more interesting ways they could have concluded Matt's story. Death being the most preferable one.

I didn't really feel any closure with the characters. Sean and Julia seperated and moved on? Seen that before. Sean and Christian split up and went their separate ways? Seen that before. Matt being a selfish moron? See that in virtually every episode he appears in. Liz was the only one who I feel advanced, as she's now a partner in the business, and is having a healthy baby.

Disappointing ending to the series. But then I was half expecting it as the final season has been so bad, that it's shocking.

Still, as a die hard Nip/Tuck fan, it's been a fun ride overall. I'll always cherish seasons 1-3. The days of Escobar, Ava, The Carver, Quentin, Kit McGraw, Mrs Grubman, Merill Bobolit etc. They are truly the hey day of Nip/Tuck.

I don't disagree that seasons 1-3 were the "hey day" of Nip/Tuck. All the past characters you mentioned brings back some very fond memories. But I feel the ending to the series was perfect. It wasn't over the top or extreme. It was something that many people weren't expecting but I thought it gave satisfying conclusion. You're right that Sean and Christian have split up before but I think the difference here was that it was Christian who initiated the split. Previously, Sean was always the one who wanted out and would threaten to leave. I thought it was very satisfying to finally see Christian let go of Sean once and for all. He finally did a selfless act IMO and I think that's character advancement.

That's a good point about Christian initiating the split this time. But for a series finale, again I was expecting more. Nip/Tuck is a series that often relied on the outrageous, and it's a huge part of why we all love it and it's so popular.

I wasn't expecting something outrageous to happen, but I was expecting something exciting to happen. Something that would make our jaws hit the floor one last time before we said goodbye to this show. I think the last jaw dropping thing we saw this season was Julia planting the drugs on her own mother. That was a shocker, even more surprising than Kimber's suicide, IMO.

I did love the use of the 'All I know' song from the season 2 finale. I affiliate so much with the Carver's attack on Christian that I was half expecting him to pop up lol.

Me too! I was expecting him to jump Christian at the bar. lol

Honestly, I don't think anything would have surprised me anymore. They could have had Ava deciding to be a bear and it still wouldn't shock me. Not like it when it used to during seasons 1-3.

The problem with Kimber's suicide was the handling of it after the fact. There wasn't nearly enough reflection on it when measured against her impact on the lives of the main characters. Hooked up with Christian, eventually started dating Sean, went back to Christian briefly at least once per season, hooked up with Matt and had a kid with him, etc., etc., etc. This woman was even more of a force of nature than Ava ever could hope to be!

Even with how lackluster the finale was. I still teared up at the end. Was nice seeing Christian step up and let Sean go though. Still just a whole let down though for real last 3 or 4 years have been

I thought the finale was fine. It gave me enough closure. I think the damage was done throughout the season and the ending at least brought it back to the main characters and Christian initiating the split was character growth for him. So was Sean finally deciding to step out on his own. Because I noticed that he was using other people as a crutch-Christian, Julia, his kids, the kid with Liz, and then Curtis.

The only character that got something of a regression was Matt, but at the same time I guess that's some development. He decided who he wanted to be with and in a creepy fashion he used his daughter to seal the deal.

I thought that song was familiar. Who sings it? It was very appropriate and brought back the halycon days of the show.

Though many think the show went downhill totally after season 3, I enjoyed the first half of season 5. Sharon Gless was one of the creepiest villains ever on the show. Never saw season 4, but for me the show started slipping with the second half of Season 5. But I'll miss it anyway. When it was at its height you never knew what would happen. One of the best gulity pleasures of all time.

I actually liked most of season 5 when they moved to California. There were some interesting storylines going on with Sean being a tv star and his crazy ass homicidal agent. She was a great villain! But after that storyline they show just went to complete crap. It was aimless and it didnt feel like there was any particular story happening.

Although in all fairness, i think what they've been trying to do the last couple seasons is try to establish Sean's fatigue with Christian and his overall desire for a better life. In theory thats a great theme to explore but it just wasnt executed well at all. The characters never progressed and always went back to the same old habits. Thats what killed this show unfortunately.

I liked the finale just fine....way deep down, Christian is a good person

We've always known that deep down he was good since season 3 where he almost cut his arm off to save Sean from the Carver. But since then, Christian's been acting pretty despicably. It wasnt til the very end of the series that we were reminded of the goodness inside him.

The finale was sound enough. Some classic Nip/Tuck wackiness would have been nice, but it was enjoyable.

The partnership ending really hit home. For all the good and bad I viewed from the show, the Sean/Christian dynamic was always what I liked most. Good to see that 'sacrifice' from Christian, reflecting back to what he was telling Matt (who should have been accosted by airport security and tased to death, simply for being a world class *****e and **** up). Equally good to see Sean being able to do something for himself without being self-destructive. That was an annoying recurring theme over the last few seasons. Loved the end scene, mirroring when Christian met Kimber.

Even though I think it was all downhill post-Season 3, I'll miss this hodgepodge of flawed characters and their zaniness.

fast forward 2 years, Matt is back on Venice Beach giving HJs for meth money whilst Ava has disappeared with Jenna

I've started to re-watch the past seasons. Right now I'm on episode 3 of season 1. I only have the first four seasons on DVD but they were probably the best of the series anyway.

So who else teared up there at the end when Sean and Christian finally parted ways? I mean even though the writings been bad for a while now its still been one crazy ride and Im gonna miss the antics and just overall ****ed up stuff going on at Mcnamara/Troy

I teared up. Especially when Sean looks back one more time and sees Christian walking away. I did love the final scene with Christian hitting on that Kimber-look alike. Nice throwback to the pilot.

I liked it i guess overall but still Im just so disappointed in the show as a whole after season 3. At least at first season 5 was interesting with the move to L.A. but it lost its appeal eventually. I mean we most definately shouldve got Bradley Cooper or (ugh) Rosie O'Donells character one more time. Or Oliver Platt's, I dunno why but Ive always dug that dude. He never disappoints when hes on screen

I would definitely have loved to see Bradley Cooper one more time but I think he's become pretty big since his last appearance on the show.

Yea he has but plenty of people that have been on Nip/Tuck were pretty big at the time of their respective appearances. Prime example Famke Jansen. She was playing Jean Grey and Ava Moore pretty much simultaneously.

Just watched the finale. Each character ended up as they should, with Christian not changing a bit!

I would have loved to seen Cooper again, but i think when they were shooting these last episodes, he was shooting "A-Team"

wow just watched a **** load of episodes, i'll try to watch the finale this week, hope it was good

I just saw the finale. This show definitely went out with a whimper. It's a shame, but it happens to many good shows.
