I know this doesn't have to do with Skyward Sword, but look at what I bought today :)

Very nice. Gold cartridge? Mind telling us how much?

Yep. Gold Cartridge. But it didn't have the manual (not that big of a deal since I can find one for $2 on eBay).

Game Craze had it for $40. The guy who sold it to them sold it yesterday with Street Fighter 2010 and two other games I forget in boxes that were in rather decent condition and he went up to them and asked if they were worth anything :p

Reminds me of that episode of the Simpson when Martin's mom goes to the comic book store and has all these rare items like an alternate ending to Empire Strikes Back and Comic Book Guy lowballs her.

If it makes you feel better, according to their story, they told him YES

God, I love the original Zelda boxart. That shield/crest thing will forever be etched in my memory. It practically screams "VIDEO GAMES!" to me.

I'm SNES generation, but I'm sad to say my first Zelda was OoT. Or not such a reason to be sad, maybe.

Legend Of Zelda Skyward Sword is going to be just like the sword fight in Wii Sports Resort. So yes. You need Wii Motion +. You also need a nun-chuck. The bow and arrow is going to be like the Wii Sports resort Archery. Tossing the bombs will be just like throwing a bowling ball in Wii Sports. You need Wii Motion + because if you swing horizontaly then it will go into the direction ECT...... You can buy the Motion + at Gamestop for 30$.

I'm snes as well, but OoT was my first Zelda, i went and played all the ones before it though, but you can definitely see how OoT was the game that set the new standard.

My issues with a lot of the games after is poor writing. The side quests in in OoT were well written. The gold skulltula's...based off greed was a very interesting approach, and very plausible. 3 Guardians open it up and the back stab. the poe hunting was even somewhat legit.

The gerudos never really came off as good guys at all and came off more like thieves first.

I really hope the story telling in this one is a lot more plausible then the last 3 zeldas. Twilight Princess I found was very weak story telling, with it all being very predictable and unreasonably far fetched.

Windwaker...it seemed so cartoonish and unreasonably friendly I felt more like I was about to sit down and play some cards with the villains than i was about to beat them up.

And majora's mask, Personally one of my favourite games...however not a Zelda game at all.

I mean she's in it for what 15 seconds? Where is Ganon?!?

It didn't feel like a quick-cash in, because they spent time on the game, however it did feel like it was trying to cash in on the success of OoT.

I dunno Grommers, I think Majoras Mask is the direction that series needs to go really, with purely different adventures. As much as I love the iconic trinity of Link, Zelda and Ganon, that is exactly what made Twilight Princess predictable. If they're going to keep using the same 3 characters, then I think they should really change and shake things up (which they may well have done with this one, for all we know).

For instance, if it's always a different link or hero, why does it always have to be the same Ganon? It'd be interesting to have a different incarnation of him.

Btw, was thinking, you know how in Twilight Princess they mention the race of Sky People that came before? Do you think that may be an indication of Links sky race in this game?

Could very well be.

i get why you would think those 3 characters are overused in a sense, and I agree. Much like other genre's you can see re-vamps of the character. It'd be nice to see a much different style ganon, zelda, or link.

Perhaps something more along the lines as a Zelda that is leader of the gerudo's.

A ganon who was born with the power instead of "chasing". So we don't have to see this huge downfall. Or perhaps even a stronger origin?

Thats a good idea actually Grommers... Since this takes place before Ocarina, maybe we could even see an early Gannondorf, see his origin story.

Also, considering the premise, of Sky link travelling down onto Hyrule, a land covered with monsters, I'd love it if Zelda was either in Sheik form or a Xena style forest warrior, living in a tree settlement or something. A savage warrior princess could be a nice touch.

That would be really cool. I'd love for some more forest levels, I'm just hoping they bring in the whip again, just with even more usage.

I doubt they'll do anything like that however. Which is kind of sad, and I think one of the biggest problems in the zelda universe is the repetitious behaviour it currently has.

I'd also wish it would drop hints on other of parts of other games, much like wind waker did. Such as maybe the creation of the sage medallions from OoT.

I know Shiguero is against any sort of "extensive" story wanting the story to be very easy to follow, but I think it could still be very plausable to drop hints and tidbits to other games at a far greater amount.

Heck, even the creation of the ocarina would be cool or a bigger explanation on why all these instruments have magical power. (I'm glad we are getting the master sword creation though).

Another aspect of the game I would like to see looked at is the creativeness to kill some of these bosses...in like every game right now, it's kind of obvious that you are going to need the tool that you acquire in the dungeon or the "level".

Things they do have right now is the constant change of characters, although I wish there was more to some of there stories. I still feel I never learned enough about darunia. :(

It'd be cool to see some early Gorons too.

Also, there is a whip in this game, pretty sure.

The whip was in the E3 demo.

Since it seems Hyrule has already been in a dark age before Link came down, Sheik very well could be back. I'd love a few situations where you fight with her.

Yeah, I'm getting rather addicted to buying NES games with the box. I also bought Metroid, Super Mario Bros. 2 and 3, and Mario Bros Arcade :(

I have a feeling that Nintendo is reacting to some of the criticism of how the game looked last time. I just wish they'd do the same about the criticisms of the game having no voice acting...
