Either way you slice it there are two remaining East teams with some history with the Lakers. Obviously Boston's history with LA was more documented and is considered to be one of the many great classic basketball rivalries.

Detroit, on the other hand, has some history with them as well and I think either series would make for some excitement. As long as Los Angeles doesn't win I'll be happy either way.

for the Lakers fans here....

dont cheer... dont celebrate.. aint nothing changed but the date.... business isnt finished... we got four more wins left...

lets get the game faces back on!:cmad:

also I'F.. i take offense to the butt ugly uniforms comment.. i think our uniforms are the coolest in the league.. im biased... but even if i try to be objective... they still come out pretty damn cool
Purple and Gold have been worn in every road game
no more 'inside the nba'

:(

now its medicore abc coverage.
yea im pissed too :csad:

If Kobe wins a championship this year his ego will be huge and I just hate seeing him win. He's one of those guys who has this chip on his shoulders and he thinks he's better than everyone else.
:lmao: sorry this comment made me laugh

I'm not a Spurs fan. I just absolutely hate the Lakers and their fanbase honestly. They're a cocky bunch that has never had to experience hardships like Sacramento, Dallas, Atlanta, or even New Orleans. Your franchise has had the fortune of having a GM who has made great smart picks and your never watched your team suffer in the basement.

The lakers havent been relevant the passed 3 years. They missed the playoffs in 2005 and got bounced in the first round the past 2. Thats hardship to me.

I view you much like I view all current Laker fans as bandwagoners who hopped on the next big thing honestly. Obviously the Lakers won the series and they dethroned the defending champs, but it doesn't mean they should get my congratulations. Where was the congratulations from you and the rest of the forum when Dallas made it to the Finals? I remember A LOT of classless comments from you, Rekal, Jerry, and several others talking about our fanbase, talking about our team, and saying we didn't deserve to be where we are.

.

First, off im no bandwagon fan. I live in so cal. I cheer all la teams all my life. So i dont know how you can see me as a bandwagon fan.

Also, ive never made classless comments about the mavericks being in the finals. They choked after being up 2-0, but if you remember me saying that. I wasnt even around then. Just look at my join date. So thats kind of weird.

Anyway continue to hate. Nothing can take the smile off my face tonight. Go Lakers!! :woot::grin:

I sincerely hope the Lakers get *****slapped by Detroit or Boston. From the looks of things it appears that it'll be Los Angeles/Boston for old times sake.

I had a feeling San Antonio would lose as coming back from a 3-1 deficit is no easy task obviously and they dug themselves into a hole they couldn't get out of. Thus is the tale of the Spurs who win a championship, lose the next year, and probably win next year. Fact of the matter is they ran into a team that was younger, athletic, and quicker than they were and they couldn't keep up. While I do believe the league has managed to manipulate certain aspects of the game to guarantee a Boston/Los Angeles championship confrontation, it doesn't change the fact that the Spurs, much like Dallas, are sucumbing to defeat against the younger, quicker, and athletic teams.

Both clubs will have to make some necessary changes to their roster and get younger as well.

If Kobe wins a championship this year his ego will be huge and I just hate seeing him win. He's one of those guys who has this chip on his shoulders and he thinks he's better than everyone else.

And as for the Laker fans? I guess Rekal and his bandwagon buddies will be claiming themselves as true Laker fans, that is, until they either lose to Boston or Detroit.

:whatever:

Anyway, congrats to Lakers but it's not time to celebrate yet. Either Pistons or Celtics will be tough and Lakers won't have the homecourt advantage, but since they have won in Denver, Utah, and San Antonio I don't think it will be a problem. This will be their greatest adversary yet, but I have confident Lakers will prevail and win the championship.

WOOOO!!! Lets go Boston! Lets kick a little Piston ass tonight WOOOO!!!!

Lakers/Celtics would be a sick ass matchup. I am suprised no one is talking about it just yet. Might even bring the NBA back in terms of being comparable to those Jordan/Byrd/Magic years. I am pulling for the Celts.

No one except the countless sports media people on TV, radio and magazines. They've been drooling over a Celtics/Lakers final since November.
