Well, it did take them 125 years to do what the Marlins, Mets, Yankees, Red Sox, Dodgers, Giants, Orioles, Blue Jays, Braves, Cubs, Reds, White Sox, Pirates, Cardinals, A's, Indians, and Tigers have done.

If by that you mean it was way more awesome than a typical night in New York, then yes.

I don't consider riots to be awesome.

Lets not forget the Philadelphia Wings of the National Lacrosse League have won a record 6 NLL Championships, the Philadelphia Freedom of World Team Tennis won in 2001 and the Phildelphia Phantoms of the AHL won the Calder Cup in 1998 and 2005.

In our defense, no buildings got trashed to my knowledge. Just peoples cars. But the cars got seriously ****ed up. And there were fights and cops beating people up. Like I said:awesome.

I don't recall any either. I do remember Yankee Stadium shaking during the 1998 WS. New Yorkers don't feel a need to go out and destroy things when their teams win.
