What happened? I was watching The Office.

Baldelli was up 3-2 count and obviously went around a check swing....the home plate umpire called him out, but they appealed it and the first base umpire said he didn't go around. The rule is once the home plate ump makes the call you can't appeal. Led to another run.

Phillies are killing themselves. Leaving to many men on, and horrible base running.

If the HP ump allowed the appeal, can't really disagree with it. Phillies got the benefit of a call (or lack thereof) yesterday.

Yeah, it's the Phillies killing themselves. Not James Shield pitching really well.

this is heartbreaking to watch.

both the game and the heartless rendition of god bless america

That's not how the rule reads....once the ump makes the call there can be no appeal. Watch the replay and you'll see what I'm talking about.

He pitched good, but the Phillies couldn't hit with RISP again.

Wow terrible call.... there should have been two guys on

Did the catcher only point to the 3B/1B coach or did the HP ump point to him also?

Did Buck or McCarver say it was the rules? Because I wouldn't fully trust either of them.

This article states the HP ump hesitated.
The HP ump signaled strike, but Baldelli headed to first. I didn't see who asked for the appeal cause they cut to the 1st base ump.

Yeah McCarver was saying it.

When you watch the replay you'll see there is no hesitation from the HP ump.

another great call by the ump
Definitely two terrible calls tonight. The umps were bad last night to, but no runs came from those blown calls. One came tonight off that walk to Baldelli, and who knows what would have happened if Rollins was given first like he should have been. First and Second no outs.....

Even with all that, I still don't blame the umps. We didn't execute. We were like 1-28 with RISP in these two games, and that one hit only advanced the runner to third. We really need to pick it up offensively. Can't wait till Saturday, Citizens Bank is gonna be crazy.

Probably was Tampa because they had the worst record last year.

Tonight's game will probably have the worst ratings for a WS game ever.

Come on, my grandma has played games in worse weather conditions. Lets get it moving.

Why did they give out rally towels? It's only the 3rd game of the series....

The towel waiving is so annoying I can't watch the game, only listen.

It's distracting because they never do it in the regular season.
