"You throw the ball. You hit the ball. You catch the ball. Got it???"

"Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains."

K-Rod is so bad. He can never throw his breaking ball for a strike. Let's see if he can not blow it.

I just wish it made for more interesting conversation. It's pretty boring when half the posters in this thread bury their head in the sand when someone says something that challenges accepted "truths"

it's not about challenging anyones "truths" about anything...I know there are various stats in the world of baseball.....just not interested in them

In other news it is mid April.

Makes as much sense as handing the Rangers the division when they were 8-0. Or last December.

What I love is how many times you tell us you're not interested in them. If they really didn't interest you then I wouldn't think you'd bother.

You're really a closet stathead aren't you?

I just don't like having my "fandom" questioned because I don't give a **** what war and whip are

I'm a stathead, but not for baseball

Here's what I don't understand. Baseball is more stat-orientated than any other sport. It's been that way for literally over a hundred years. How can you not enjoy it from that stance?

Pretty awesome thing just happened. My dad is at the Dbacks game today, I predicted that Upton was going to homer when he came to the plate in the 4th and on the very first pitch of the at-bat he goes yard.

**** yeah.

im sorry the conversation here isn't scintillating enough for your elevated standards, so I want to apologize on behalf of all of us dullards here

there are other boards that might provide you with the more refined conversation you so desire

It's okay, being a Mets fan is hard.

They have that deep farm system after all.

Yep. They're playing better than expected so far this season, and when you get Eric Hosmer, Mike Moustakas, and a few new pitchers up, they'll be kicking some serious ass.

Even though we lost tonight, we still look good!

Hey guys, we almost made it a whole page without talking about the Rangers.

****!
