No. You're wrong again.

NBA has had only 8 different teams win Championships in the past 30 years. (and 3 of them only won once, so technically it could be 5 in 27)

MLB has had that many teams win it all in the last 9 years alone. (Giants, Yankees, Phillies, Red Sox, Cardinals, White Sox, Marlins, Angels}. If you extend it out to 30 years, you have 20+ teams that have a title.

18 different winners in the NFL in the past 30 years.

14 in the NHL.

Fixed that for you. That league has been abysmal to watch for the last 15 years. I hope their looming lockout completely destroys it.

Now back to talking about an interesting sport.
That's true. The NBA is in such an awful state. I'd love a lock-out as well.

That number is remarkable.

Someone can double check me since I just did it quickly (have a class soon) but I think it's 19 in the MLB. I can do it myself later tonight.

You're correct, it is 19, for some reason when I first added them up in my head I got 21.

That being said of the 11 teams that haven't won it in MLB in the last 30 years, 7 of those teams have made the World Series at least once in the past 30 years.

1. Rays
2. Indians x2
3. Rangers
4. Brewers
5. Astros
6. Padres x2
7. Rockies

So basically in the last 30 years every team in MLB except for the Mariners, Expos/Nats, Cubs, and Pirates has at least played for the title at least once. And each of those 4 teams has made it to the ALCS/NLCS at least once in that time frame.

Expos were in the NLCS in 1981. Pirates were in the NLCS in 90-92.

so the point is? we do a round robin blind drawing for the World Series to make sure it's fair for everyone?

Well, that may be your only hope of ever seeing the Mets in it again...

Mets, we have money and we don't know what to do with it.

Yeah you're right. They technically have money, but it isn't theirs. They're essentially a European soccer team right now.

Jed Lowrie is on fire right now. Thank you fantasy baseball success.

Too bad I was at work yesterday and missed the drubbing that the Angels gave the Rangers. That would have been fun to see. Bourjos, Trumbo, and Conger are a young core that I can see being a force.

Also, the Angels finally cut ties with Brandon Wood. Now some other team can enjoy that .168/.197/.259 career slash line. Next up: Jeff Mathis.
