Yeah you're right. They technically have money, but it isn't theirs. They're essentially a European soccer team right now.

I have no illusions that my team sucks, and I'm not gonna throw a hissy because other teams are always in the post season

Ive written off this year and next...so I can watch baseball stress free for the next two years

Man, the White Sox are taking it on the chin again. They have hit a major slump and not looking good.

^ It is getting close for one of those. He came close last week when he said he had no closer, but it wasn't full meltdown mode.

Apparently Pitch f/x clocked Chapman's alleged 106 heater at 103.

103? He can throw that hard if he gears it up enough, the data has shown that.

Luke Hochevar took a perfect game into the 6th. Then the TV announcer started talking about how he'd been perfect so far, and suddenly the first hit was given up.

Nah, the first game I jinxed it. I was like "Hey JJ has a no hitter going, oh **** jinx!"

because its all the TV announcers fault

Two things:

1) It happened immediately after he started talking about it, and mentioned how he'd been "perfect for the first five innings".
2) It was Ryan Lefebvre, who annoys the **** out of me in general.

Pretty much what happened to JJ as well.

I absolutely hate it when that happens. I think you can avoid jinxes (or rather avoid the idea of a jinx) by simply not saying no hitter or perfect game but still describe it as it's happening. If I was an announcer with superstitutions, I would say "Josh Johnson has not allowed any base runners through 5."

I do that with friends during a no-no, I usually just say "check the box score for this game" or something similar.

Same thing happened to Chen, I think against the Tigers, last season.

Mike Leake, convicted thief and criminal started and got the W for the Reds today against AZ. All my rage.

I've seen no hitters go either way, where an announcer or analyst would be subtle about it or just flat out say, "Hey this guy's gotta no hitter going!". It obviously doesn't matter, though it's much cooler when the guys in the booth don't say the words perfect game or no-hitter.
