It took 14 inns, but the Mets got the W.

Phils fans cheering USA, USA, during the game while the news broke about OBL's death.... Priceless. :D

Give up for the folks at Citizen Bank's Park for chanting USA.

That was a pretty cool moment. Good on the Phillies fans for that. For all the **** they take any time something negative happens there (like it doesnt happen elsewhere) you've got to give them some cred.

I almost regret turning down the chance to go to the game.

It's funny because that's how I found out the news last night, even though I only had the game on in the background.

most every player in every sport that gets asked about Philadelphia says its the worst place to play for opposing teams....I believe Terrel Davis once said playing in Veterans Coliseum is like spending a day in prison

oh...and Francisco Liriano pitches a No-Hitter against the White Sox

Anytime the White Sox fail, it's pleasing:o

Pretty disappointed to hear about the Liriano no-no after the fact. Otherwise good for him.

Ugh ... Can it get any worse for the White Sox? I'm beginning to wonder if Ozzie will last the entire season. I expect him to do/say something that will force Kenny Williams to act .... Or Ozzie's head might just explode.

More hospitality shown by your poor, misunderstood Philly fans

Pedro Martinez got a standing ovation from Met fans even though he had 1 good season and never pitched in the playoffs. Meanwhile, that's the reception Werth gets for helping the Phillies to 2 straight WS and winning one.

I was so jacked last night when Liriano pitched the no hitter. It wasn't pretty but effective. They got the sweep today so hopefully that was all they needed to get into gear.

Yeah by all means. What the hell is wrong for them not cheering for a guy who blew town in the prime of his career and gave up the chance to win and play in the playoffs regularly for the almighty dollar on a terrible team? That always goes over well in blue collar towns.

BTW most in the crowd were actually cheering him. Despite the few knuckleheads with the lame signs.

Also BTW Pedro was shot by the time he left the Mets. He wasnt going to help them win and didnt leave for a bigger paycheck. It's not even an apt comparison. let's see how they respond when their core players start bolting town because their bankrupt ownership cant afford to pay them what other teams are offering.

It's the Edwin Jackson special.

or the AJ Burnett special

This happens every year. The White Sox go through a tough stretch, Ozzie says stupid things and gets all controversial, Kenny Williams ponders decision to fire him, Jerry Reihnsdorf probably convinced him not to, White Sox rebound on the field, rinse/lather/repeat.

He still helped them get to 2 World Series. It was unlikely they would keep him anyway with their other commitments and Brown.

It was more than just a few.

The point was Pedro did nothing for the Mets except take millions and stay on the DL but he STILL got a better reception than Werth.

Werth sold out for more money. He's playing for the enemy now, of course they're going to boo him. I don't feel sorry at all for him. If he doesn't like it, he can dry his tears with the extra money he left the Phillies for in the first place.

Are the Nationals really the enemy? Come on now? Seriously? Really?

Yeah, because the Nationals and Phillies have such a fierce rivalry
